A few months have passed and Phil and I were doing very well. Chris still bullied us everyday, but we did our best to shrug it off. Everyday, we'd still meet up on the roof and either talk or help each other with homework or just keep gardening.

"Hey," Phil mumbled.
"Yeah?"
"It's been six months,"
"Since?"
"Don't act stupid," he laughed. "So, my parents wanna have you over for dinner tonight,"
"But I had dinner with you guys last week," I chuckled. "But, I'd love to join,"
"Great," he smiled as he handed me a rose. "See you then,"
"See you then."

"Hi mum," I said. I walked into the house and threw my backpack down next to the stairs.
"Daniel, pick it up and put it away,"
"Fine," I groaned. I picked up my belongings and dragged them up to my room. I threw my bag into my closet and slammed the door, so mum wouldn't see the mess in there. "Hey mum,"
"Yes?"
"Can I have dinner at Phil's house?"
"When?"
"Tonight,"
"Don't you think you should have let me know in advance?"
"Please mum! It's our six month anniversary!" I pleaded.
"Oh, alright," she sighed. "Make sure you dress up nice. Wouldn't want you looking shabby for your boyfriend,"
"Thanks mum!" I cheered as I hugged her.
"You're welcome," she smiled.
"So, you seem to be in a good mood today,"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, you've only yelled at me once and you let me go somewhere last minute,"
"I suppose I did. What time are you going over Phil's?"
"5, maybe 5:15,"
"Shouldn't you be getting ready?"
"Yeah," I laughed. "Thanks mum,"
"No problem, dear."

Me: Hey, I'm ready
Phil: Cool, I'll be there in a few

I set my phone down with a smile and sat on my bed, waiting for his next text. I was dressed in one of my nicer shirts; it was a white button down with moths all over it. Even though I hated moths, I still wore it...bought it ironically I guess. Then of course, I complimented the outfit with my black jeans and black converse. After a couple minutes, I walked downstairs to say goodbye to the family.

"How do I look?" I asked.
"Very handsome," mum smiled.
"Thanks...dad?"
"Your sure are a looker,"
"Thanks, I guess,"

Phil: Here

"I gotta go. Bye guys,"
"Daniel, make sure you aren't home too late," mum said.
"I promise, I'll be home at a reasonable hour,"
"Thank you," she kissed my forehead. "Now go, have fun,"
"Thanks." I flashed her a smile and bolted out the front door.
"Hey," he smiled, pulling out of the driveway.
"Hey,"
"You look so handsome,"
"Stop," I blushed. "My mum made me dress nice,"
"I'm honestly surprised she let you come at all,"
"I am too...guess she was in a good mood today,"
"And you took advantage of that," he chuckled, "I knew I liked you for a reason,"
"Fuck off," I smiled.

The rest of the car ride was Phil cracking jokes and me replying with laughs or swears. A couple minutes passed and we pulled into his driveway; no one else seemed to be home.

"Uh, Phil,"
"Yeah?"
"If I'm having dinner with your family, then where's the family?"
"Out of town," he mumbled.
"Why would you lie to me?"
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to have a fun day with you. Y'know, order a pizza, play some video games, talk shit about people," he joked. "I was also hoping you could spend the night," he whispered.
"Phil, that all sounds amazing but, I don't think mum would let me," I pouted.
"Can't you at least text her?"
"Ugh, fine," I said with a fake frown.

Me: Hey, mum. I know you'll probably say no, but can I spend the night at Phil's?
Mum: Are his parents home?

"Shit, she's asking about your parents,"
"Lie,"
"I can't do that, she'd catch me,"
"Oh come on Dan! Please..."
"Fine...but if I die, I'm coming back and I'm gonna haunt you,"
"Fine by me,"

Me: Yes
Mum: It took you an awfully long time to say yes Daniel...are you lying to me?
Me: Maybe...
Mum: Thought so
Mum: Just be home before 3 tomorrow. Have fun. Love you.
Me: Whoa! Are you serious! Tysm! Ily!
Mum: I'm not the witch you make me out to be Daniel. Anyway, be safe, have fun
Me: I will! Tysm!

"I can stay!"
"Great, now come on!"
