The blinding sun forced Harry to keep his eyes tightly shut. It took him a few moments to realize that he was not waking in his cozy Hogwarts bed. His eyes flew open and darted around the clearing, burning slightly in the sun's glare. Feeling a heavy weight on his chest, Harry's eyes darted down to see a body entangled with his own.

"Veronica," He said softly, moving his numb arm out from underneath her. She stirred in her sleep for a moment before becoming still again. "Veronica!" Harry said a little louder, suddenly realizing how bad this could look if anyone were to find out they snuck out last night. Harry brushed the hair out of Veronica's sleeping face with the tips of his fingers. A selfish part of him didn't care that they would get in trouble, as long as he could stay like this for a while longer, but the more logical part of him began shaking her shoulder lightly.

Veronica stirred and slowly opened her eyes. Evidently going through a similar process as Harry's, Veronica's eyes scanned the clearing before landing upon Harry. She quickly detangled herself from his body, swearing under her breath as she got to her feet. She paced for a few strides before turning back to Harry, who had found his way to his feet. Grabbing his wrist, Veronica looked down at Harry's watch and swore again.

Harry chanced a look at it  himself and saw the small hands reading 10:36.

"It's Saturday. At least we haven't missed any lessons," Harry tried to make the situation seem less than it was.

"Everyone will already be awake by now," she said in a slightly shaky voice, running her hand through her dark hair, untangling the few fragments of leaves that had accumulated during the night spent on the forest ground.

"Nothing we can do about it now," Harry said grudgingly, pulling his invisibility cloak out from his inside pocket. He pulled it over himself and held open a side for Veronica to slide under.

They began the trek back up to the castle, the tension under the cloak heavier than ever before, "What happens when you get in trouble?" Veronica said in nearly a whisper.

"How should I know?" Harry said with a smirk. Veronica laughed, breaking the tension between them.

"Seriously," she recomposed her serious face, "What happens? Do they.. do they write to your parents?"

Harry scanned her terrified face, "Unless someone told a professor that we weren't in our beds sometime before sunrise, we can just say that we took a morning stroll to get some fresh air or went to study by the lake."

This made Veronica relax a little, but she was still visibly nervous. "We can probably take off the cloak once we get near Hagrid's. Say we were coming from there."

Veronica nodded her head at the suggestion. Harry wanted so badly to drape his arm around her waist, as it had been this morning. He resisted the urge and settled for quick glances every few minutes.

When they made it to Hagrid's, the two of them slid behind the back wall and removed the cloak. Harry stuffed it into his robe pocket before they emerged out the other side. "Are you sure we won't get in trouble?" Veronica said quietly, not making eye contact with Harry.

"Look over there," Harry pointed to a group of Ravenclaw girls who were studying under a nearby tree. "That's what we were doing."

She nodded her head again as they approached the castle. They entered into the entrance hall where a couple of students were on their way outside. The two walked in silence, side-by-side down the corridor. They had almost reached the dining hall when a tall man with a long white beard appeared in the doorway, blocking their entrance. Veronica gasped and took a quick step away from Harry.
