Amira's Slave

Chapter 18

Amira shuddered, that was so close she hadnt expected guards to come this far her mother must be sending them to all the major towns to spread the word. There was no way they would find anyone willing to hide them now they would just have to find a tree or something to shelter under.

The days dragged on it was a long journey to the free land but at last they could see it in front of them. There was a huge building which looked like an airport. Security seemed tight and Amira wondered how on earth they would smuggle two runaway slaves onto a boat. Hesitantly she approached the main door and made her way up the long ramp that lead to the waiting area. They were halfway up the ramp when Claire froze. Amira turned to look at her and saw her face twisted in pain it was taking all her effort not to scream. Suddenly she gave in and fell to the floor her body convulsing with pain. "Whats happening?" Amira shouted

"She must have had a chip implanted at some point. How could I forget!" gasped Charlotte

Amira bent down to Claire and tried to comfort her but she could hear security guards calling orders to each other in the distance.

"Some slaves have chips implanted to stop them running away, they do it when they are first brought through here. There are sensors which set them off so that no runaway slave can get through. Im so sorry I dont know how I didnt think of this. Amira your going to have to leave her."

"No way Im not leaving her alone like this."

"You have to it will be worse for you than her if your caught!"

"No!"

Amira held Claires arm and tried to help her move but she was in too much pain. "Mistress leave me take care of my sister please I dont want all of you to suffer too. Please go thank you for everything." Claire gasped

"Im not going anywhere!" Amira refused but Chelsea and Charlotte were already pulling her away. Amira cried as tbe guards picked Claire up and took her away her body still twitching in pain.
