the six boys were gathered around mark, who was still on the floor motionless. panic rose in jeno as renjun and chenle went to call for the caretaker. he started to shake.
" r-renjun... " he called out, feeling more and more dizzy all of a sudden.
and suddenly jisung and donghyuck appeared by his side, after hearing his almost-silent cry, and gave each other a knowing look.
" hyung— "
" stay-y away from m-me. "
the caretaker's faraway footsteps could be heard as loud stomps to jeno's ears, causing him to almost screech in annoyance as they thumped against them. he stumbled onto the ground; it was as though his eardrums were going to burst.
" why are you scared of us... hyung? "
as jisung and donghyuck neared jeno, he could feel their breath tickling his ear, and he swore at that moment, as jisung pulled him up by the arm, the drumming in his ears stopped. jeno slowly tilted his head up, finding himself staring right into the caretaker's soulless eyes.
they stayed like that, and everything else seemed to have stopped moving. renjun, chenle and jaemin were more clueless than ever, jisung and donghyuck looked less human than ever, and jeno...
he had never been shaken up this bad before.
he still continued his gaze on the caretaker as he broke their eye contact. he made his way towards mark, who was on the ground, and carried him up on his shoulder. jeno could only hold his breath and wait as he turned around to face him again.
" come with me, jeno. "
" why? " he asked immediately, taking the caretaker by surprise.
but before he could say anymore, jisung and donghyuck hooked their arm around each of jeno's and dragged him towards the caretaker's direction. jeno could feel the arms tug backwards a bit, and he noticed the two turn their heads towards the other three.
" hyung, " jisung said to all three of them, making them turn to him with oblivious smiles.
oh, if only they knew.
" yeah? "
a smile crept up jisung's face, one that seemed anything but friendly, but they didn't seem to notice. donghyuck twisted his head back to jeno and brought him forward, leaving jisung with the three.
" come play with us. "
