❝ it's raining! ❞
jisung's cheery voice brought all seven boys out of their rooms, to witness the rainfall of dusk. they went out to the balcony where jisung was, and were instantly shone on by the strong sunset.
renjun and chenle ruffled jisung's hair, whilst donghyuck came out with jaemin, and jeno came out with mark. it was a nice moment, when all their worries were taken away just like their breaths, as they all just stared at the orange streaks of paradise up above.
it was one of the few days when rain came along with the sunset, and it was a feeling of warmth and the splattering sound of the raindrops that made the boys feel at ease.
mark let out a small sigh, relieved that everything was back to how they once were. things were calm, just how they should be.
and it was only when the sun finally set, and the dark night fell, when mark asked jeno:
" thinking of home? "
the younger shook his head in reply, a gentle smile playing on his lips. it made mark do to the same.
" do you still want to go back? "
" no," jeno admitted, as his smile widened a little. " im good here... with you and the others. "
he felt a small splash on his arm, one too strong to be just a mere raindrop, and when he turned to the side, he noticed jisung with his hands held out in the rain and grinning up at him. jeno splashed it back onto him, and made mark his next target.
" let's think of a word to describe us, " donghyuck perked up, but nobody seemed to hear him.
everyone soon joined in, smiles were exchanged, along with raindrops and occasion curses from donghyuck, but everyone was actually happy at last.
" so much for wanting to share a moment with you guys, " donghyuck muttered bitterly to himself, earning a laugh from jeno.
" ohana, " mark replied, to no one in particular, with a voice faraway as though it was directed to the heavens.
" ohana? " jisung asked, tilting his head in confusion.
mark nodded. " ohana means family— "
" —and family means no one gets left behind, " jeno finished off, swinging an arm around mark.
" ohana... " donghyuck repeated, as jaemin, renjun and chenle all exchanged little smiles.
" i like it. "
jisung splashed donghyuck in the face with rain, and a laugh escaped his lips when he saw his puzzled expression.
the laughter that sounded exactly like the one in the video, mark recalled, except more...
jisung.
