Hi guys :)
This is my first ever story which I began writing soon after I graduated from university. I have never studied for this sort of thing tbh, im more of a business person, but here goes nothing...
I really hope you enjoy reading the first chapter and I will try my best to get the next chapters up as soon as possible but only if I see that theres enough demand for it. After all, I am only writing this for your entertainment :P***
Neda
'Don't just stay in your room, go out and meet people! And dont miss us too much!'
Those were the last words which came out of my mothers mouth as she gave me a tight squuze and stepped into her car and drove away, leaving me to face the crazy people who from now on I was supposed to call my flatmates.I was very sceptical about the life choice that I had just made. Daddy's little princess, moving away from home to study at university? On her own with nobody to cook for me or remind me to wake up at the right time and sleep early?
I was standing next to a pile of boxes and currently holding my giant teddy which had been gifted to me by my lovely crazy ex boyfriend. I have no idea why I still havnt gotten rid of it. The thoughts of stabbing it with a knife had crossed my mind a few days after the breakup, but it is now weeks later and I have no reason to hate the teddy.
'The fuck am I supposed to do now?' I shouted as I sat back on the sqeekiest bed I have ever sat on.
Everything was very quite after that. I must of just sat on that bed for a good half hour, reminiscing through the memories I had made over the summer and how un-ready I was to finally start university.
Suddenly, a figure slowly pushed the bedroom door open and entered my dorm room. At first I wanted to just hide behind my teddy and not face the person currently investigating my room. How rude. I wouldn't dare just put my head down and enter someone's bedroom like a cow when I see that their door is open.
'Hello?' The boy said as he swivelled his hips left and right to get a glance at who was hiding behind the huge teddy.
Once I let go of my antisocial self, I quickly placed the teddy beside me on the bed and stood up. But both of us just froze and didnt speak a word.
The funny thing was that the stranger looked more confused than I did. He was quite short, not that I wasnt, but for a small boy like him, he was very built and looked like he could cause some serious damage.
I could use a bodyguard on my first day to class I guess.
'Hi, my name is Neda and im the new girl in the flat'. As I started speaking, I felt more relaxed and able to look directly at the boys face, then eyes, then his arms which were placed on his sides. I have no idea what was going through his mind at that point but he had a huge grin on his face and looked a little intimidating.
'Hey, im Nick. Nice to meet you. Can I help you unpack?' He said as he slowly began stepping forward and picking up the boxes from the floor and placing them on the table.
'No thanks, I can handle it myself.' I spoke loudly. I didn't mean to sound rude, but for some reason my personality always adjusts to suit the type of person I am talking to. Or at least the vibe which I was getting from him made me react this way.
His grin widened even more as I said those words and I could tell he was a little impressed by the way I reacted.
It was getting a little awkward between us and so I tried to start a normal conversation with him. 'So anyways, since im new are there any events happening on campus for the new commers? My mum insists that I socialise'. To my delight, he responded 'the whole flat is having a small gathering in the living area this evening, ill knock for you and we'll go down together'.
