"You're home early." She said, still not letting me go.

"Yeah." I whispered into her neck, "And I didn't expect to see you here."

"I missed you." She defended herself, as if I was accusing her.

"I missed you too." I said as she let go of me and laid back down. I was still hovering over her as I said, "You know, I thought I was going to have to wait till tomorrow to talk to you. I didn't think you were awake." Even though I was being sincere, she took this as an opportunity and smirked.

"Then you must need to sharpen up on your skills." She quipped.

"Or maybe you're just that good." I played along.

"You know I am." She said as she slightly lifted her chin and pulled my face to meet hers. It wasn't a rough kiss, it was light and sweet. Teasing me, she smiles and pulls away. I never know what to expect with her, she keeps me on my toes. That is what I love about her, one of the many, many things I love about her. That is why I am going to marry her.

She pushed me off of her, so that we were laying side by side, facing each other. "You know you could've woken me." She said, then smirked and added, "If I wasn't already awake, of course."

I laughed and explained, "You looked so peaceful, I didn't want to disturb you." I brought a hand up and lightly brushed my thumb over her cheek, "I thought I would wait until tomorrow."

She grabbed my hand that was on her cheek. "I would've been happy if you woke me up, because the sooner you get back, it means I know you're going to." She said with a small voice. I wanted to promise to her that I would always come back. I wanted to promise her that I wouldn't leave again, but I couldn't. Knowing that if I did, it would be an empty promise. Knowing that there is always a chance that one of us would never come home. She knows that, and so do I, so instead of making empty promises that I know I can't fulfil, I said, "Hey, I'm here now right? So let's make the best of it. I know you're scared, but if you live your life fearing what will come next, you're going to regret what you didn't do."

"I know." She whispered. "Sometimes I just wonder why we had to pick such a dangerous career, why couldn't we be normal. Like if I was, I don't know, an accountant, and you were a lawyer or something. Why couldn't it be simple?"

I laughed at the thought of me being a lawyer or Cam being an accountant. "Because, that's no fun. Where is the adventure in that? Why would you want a mundane life? It may be simple, but simple gets boring. Plus, we are amazing at it." I bragged.

She laughed, "I'm so glad you're back." I missed that smile. Her laugh was like the light at the end of a tunnel, it gave me hope. I pulled her into my arms and quietly told her to get some sleep. It wasn't long before her breathing was even, and I could tell she was sleeping. Laying there, with my Gallagher Girl in my arms, I knew that wherever we were, as long as I was with her, I was home. I knew I had to marry her.

A/N: Hey guys, sorry for the short chapter but I really wanted to continue this short. Nova, Winter, "Bex said you weren't a diamond girl." I will see you guys later.
