I never thought I'd say this but I am beginning to forget when my birthday is. Seriously I cannot remember.
"Do you think it's weird that I'm beginning to forget when my birthday is?" I asked Syeed as we followed Shikharna, Kharn and Broken Ear.
"I don't know. Maybe it's because we've been trekking about in this deserted desert-ish jungle-ish place, or you're gaining the symptons of dementia," Syeed replied smiling.
"What?!" Now I was beginning to get concerned.
"Relax, relax, I was just joking. Or maybe I'm not... Nah, I'm definately just joking," Syeed was laughing now. Shikharna groaned at us as if she was telling us to hurry up! Sometimes I do wonder what Shikharna thinks of Syeed and I.
Days fly by so quickly when you're in the desert or as Syeed seems to call it "deserted desert-ish jungle-ish place". Now we were getting closer and closer to the jungle where there'll be shade and some water! Oh, I can't wait! Kharn and Broken Ear were growing in to big and strong male tigers now and it is very close to the time when Kharn and Broken Ear will have to leave their mother and go their separate ways. I hope a great future awaits for them.
The further we travel the closer we get to the jungle, I am beginning to grow quite impatient now, I wish time would hurry by and we'd be there already! I wonder what day it is today, it feels like I've been here for years. I probably have. Maybe even two years! I hope nothing bad has happened at home, I wonder if my family are worried about me, or at least thinking of me. What if they think I'm dead? What if they think I hadn't managed to survive out here? I keep asking these same old questions to myself, I don't know why. I just do.
"Hey, do you see that?" Syeed asks me.
"See what?"
"Trees!"
And there it was, the great big almighty jungle only a few miles away from us! Shikharna groans loudly except this time she sounded really happy. She began walking faster and faster, one almighty paw after the other. Shikharna was now running towards the jungle, she was so fast! Kharn and Broken Ear couldn't keep up with her! Not even me and I was the one who wanted to get there the most out of everyone! It makes me feel so happy and glad that Shikharna is full of energy and life again, she hasn't been this cheerful since she first gave birth to Kharn and Broken Ear. I bet she can't wait to dive in the lake!
