2 YEARS LATER...

We were resting the blue, ever-flowing lake in the jungle. Syeed and I were watching Shikharna say her good byes to Kharn and Broken-Ear, it was emotional. Shikharna was nudging the two boys lightly, encouraging them to leave and get gone. Kharn and Broken-Ear walked a few paces away from Shikharna then turned back around. It seemed that neither of them wanted to leave. I was hoping that this would be over with quickley because it feels like I'm about to have tears pour out my eyes at any second. I know Syeed was feeling like that too, I can see it in his face.

Shikharna began to get frustrated and chuffed at them loudly, but they still wouldn't leave. Kharn and Broken Ear stayed with us another night, I hope this is not what it's going to be like when it's time for my son "Mason" to move out. Not that I wouldn't want my son to not miss me, it's just that, well... I don't know...

I fell asleep quite quickley, I guess I was tired. Syeed fell asleep quickley too. As did Shikharna, Kharn and Broken Ear.

In the morning Syeed and I were woken up by Kharn and Broken Ear's whimpering. We moved as quick as possible just incase it was something important. And it was. It was very important indeed. Syeed and I kept tapping Shikharna and the two boys kept nudging her. They began to get aggressive, they bit Shikharna, scratched her and even chuffed in her ears. But she still wouldn't move. Syeed and I assumed that she had died, not by murder, by old age. We knew too well that it was going to happen but we weren't expecting it so soon.

Kharn and Broken Ear eventually gave up and stopped trying to wake her up because they soon figured out that she had died and that it was time for them to forget about it and move on. Go their seperate ways. We're all going to miss Shikharna deeply and ever so long.
