A Change

I quickly took a shower and wore back my dress yesterday to go to work since i remembered i packed extra clothes in my office desk drawers for emergencies. I also made Damon promised me to go to work our own separate ways as I do not want anyone from our work place to know.I quickly sent a quick text to Emma while making my way to the office.

Hey Em, im so spaced for not telling you that i will not be home due to being caught up in something babe ):

You have no idea how worried i was for you, lucky for you that you are my bestfriend or else, i will freaking hire somebody to look for you!!

How lucky i am to have a bestfriend like you. Will tell you everything once i get home xoxo babe

You better spill everything or else i will kill you xoxoo

11am and im already here in my cubicle office in my work clothes and lucky for me, he was nowhere in sight.

I was determined to get my work done before my devil boss barge in and orders me around like a lost puppy when i felt someone tapped on my shoulder.

'' Hey Addrianne, wanna go lunch with me babe? Its so bored without a company here," Sara made that cute pout face that caused me to giggle.

"I didnt even realised that its almost lunch time, thank god you remind me Sara!" I took my purse and we catchup with each other as we made our way down to the new cafe few blocks away from our workplace.

"Is Mr Damon always been like that? You know, intense and cold-" i said while slowly sipping away my coffee.

"Yep, he's always that intense and cold right after that incident with his ex-fiance-" Sara nonchalantly answered while she took a huge bite of her sandwich.

"A fiaan-cee? Since when he's engaged and what happened?" I managed to blurted out and keep a calm face so that Sara would not be suspicious.

"Her name is what's her.. name, Ohh its Nathalie and i heard she is byright the first and the most beautiful girl he has ever had in his life. She is a model and I heard they met at a Gala event. Eversince then, they went public until one fine day, they broke it off and never see each other again. Since then, he has always been like this and i swear girl you definitely have the strength to being able to stand him that long babe when all his previous personal assistant quit within one day-"

"Well lucky me i guess? Nobody is able to resist my irresistible charm-" With that, we laughed at my joke and make our way back to the office.

Im glad now that i have Sara as my friend, i will never be lonely now but after hearing what happened with him, i wonder what really happen between them and how does he cope with all this after that. I bet he used to love her dearly and i bet she is beautiful like Sara mentioned, who am i compared to her anyway?

"Addrianne, please come to my office now-" A cold voice came from my intercom shooked me off from my thoughts.

"Yes Mr Cross, i will be there right away," i answered professionally and with that, he ended the call.

Is somebody being bi-polar today? And why am i so nervous to meet him like as if its my first interview with him? Whatever it is, i believe he's not going to hurt me anymore after yesterday. I adjusted my crumpled black pencil skirt and made my way to his office.

Here we go. Knock knock.

"Come in," he said and i went him to finding him staring outside the window. His face expression is just blank and even with that, he still looks so good with his muscular body that i can see through even thru his blouse and those kissable mouth that tastes like peanut butter.

"Please be seated."

His voice bring me back to reality and i felt a slight blush crept over my cheeks. What the hell Addrianne? Keep your head in the game, its just been a moment and you already want him again? There is a moment of silence before he breaks it.

"Addrianne, just as you know, I will be out of town for the next few days to meet up with our new clients. For the mean time, I hope I can rely on you to handle the office for the next few days?" There is something that made me amazed by how serious he is when it comes to work."

" Oh, and try not to miss me too much babe," With that, he leaned in to give me a kiss, a playful one indeed.

"When will you be flying off?" I try to play it cool trying not to show that I am a bit disappointed that he is leaving me here all alone after our night yesterday.

"Tonight.. I will definitely miss you and I promise you Addriane, everything will change once I come back, i promise" he looked at me with a gaze telling me that something big is coming.
