ALINA'S POV:

"Al, you ready to go? He's here." Bella says, popping her head through the door.

Her eyes widen when she sees me, "woah, you look hot!"

I roll my eyes, grabbing my clutch bag before glancing in the mirror. I was wearing a black crop top and a white skater skirt that reached my mid‐thigh, with my high top white converse. My hair was curled to perfection thanks to Bella and my ears were clad in heart shaped diamond earrings that Jason bought me for my birthday.

"you have to say that, you're my best friend." I mumble, trying to get my mind off of the 'J' word.

She laughs, "but it's true! Come on, he's waiting."

I nod and follow her out of my room to the living room, where Owen is sitting on the sofa, waiting patiently for me.

I smile slightly, he's so cute, "hey, Owen."

His head swoops up and he stumbles to his feet, smiling nervously at me, "h‐ hey.."

His eyes travel down my body before meeting up with my eyes again, "wow, you look so beautiful."

My cheeks burn crimson and I giggle, "thank you, Owen." I bite my lip, walking over to him, "are you ready to go?"

He nods his head, "see you guys later," he mumbles to Bella and Seth before turning to me, "let's go."

His hand is placed on my lower back as he leads me out of the apartment and downstairs, to the parking lot. He holds open my door and I thank him before getting inside. He gets in on his side and starts to drive, out of the parking lot and towards the highway.

"Where are we going?" I ask, looking over at him.

He smiles, glancing at me for a second, "well, I was thinking of taking you out for a bite to eat before maybe going to watch a movie?"

I smile, nodding my head, "that sounds cool."

He nods, letting out a sigh of relief, "I was so worried you were gonna say that's way too boring,"

He glances at me again as we stop at a red light, "I didn't really have much time to plan, I didn't think you'd say yes to going on a date with me."

My eyebrows furrow and I turn to him in my seat, looking at him in confusion, "why would you think that?"

"Because you're .. You." I raise my eyebrow, "you're so beautiful, and independent, and cheeky and completely out of my league."

I blush, "you've got the wrong end of the stick there, buddy, I'm the one who's out of your league, not the other way around."
