Prologue continued

I held Chenzy in my arms as she read a Dr sues book Green eggs and ham.

Then the phone started ringing and Chenzy jumped out of my arms and answered it.

"Daddy?" she said and my heart fell when Chenzy didn't smile at the phone call.

I couldn't hear him talking but then she asked him a question that made me feel bad.

"Daddy why did you leave so quickly with out saying goodbye?"

"Chenzy.." I heard him say when I got closer to Chenzy.

"I wanted to tell you I love you" he said then I felt scared what happened why was he calling and hesitating like this.

"I love you too daddy" she replied and made a kiss sound and then we heard sirens over the phone then the call ended.

She put the phone down and went back to the book.

"Chenzy is daddy okay?" I asked her she nodded and started to read her book.

A hour past when I got a knock on my door

"Hello?" I said and a police man stood at my door and he had his hat off.

"I'm sorry to tell you this Mrs. Evenly but your ex husband Daniel Kimberly was found after a accident on the high way" the officer said and when Chenzy walked into the room I asked Phil to take her upstairs.

The officer drove me to the hospital to see Daniel.

We got to the hospital and I ran to his room and saw him lay there on the emergency bed and he looked up at me with those sad brown eyes.

I ran to his side and he reached his hand out to me.

"Tell Chenzy I will always love her" he told me and I grabbed his hand.

"No you can't leave her like this you just can't. you're going to tell her that yourself! you are!" I said to him and his grip on my hand weakened and a tear ran down my face.

"Daniel no you can't leave her like this you can't leave me like this" I yelled

He was gone.
