Waiting for daddy

Chapter 1

Chenzy

"One, two, buckle my shoe, three, four, shut the door five, six, pick up sticks, seven eight, lay them straight, nine ten do it again" I sang as I jumped down the stairs.

Mommy sat at the table with Philly and I walked over to sit down with them.

"Mommy when is daddy gonna come get me?" I said and kicked my legs under the table.

"Chenzy daddy can't come get you this week"

"You've been saying that for three years mommy!" I said to her and a tear ran down my face.

"Does daddy even love me anymore" I said and sunk in my seat and started to cry.

Mommy walked over to me.

"He loves you very much Chenzy and wants to take you home with him but he is busy at work and can't come get you" mommy said and she kissed my forehead.

The phone began to ring.

"mommy it's daddy" I said and ran to the phone.

"No honey it's not daddy"

I grabbed the phone and answered.

"Daddy?" I answered

Jaclyn

I watched as Chenzy held the phone waiting for an answer scared to be heart broken. I began to ball knowing its not Daniel and that he will never come and take her to his house ever again.

Then a familiar voice came over that phone and Chenzy became brighter.

Chenzy

"Yes Chenzy it's me" a low sad voice answered.

"See mommy it is daddy" I told mommy then she stood up confused.

"Daddy when are you coming to get...." I said then he interrupted me.

"Chenzy....... I wanted to tell you I love you"

"I love you to daddy but when are you....." I said

Loud sirens filled the room off the phone line and I dropped the phone.

"Chenzy!" mommy yelled and I slammed the phone onto the wall holder.

Mommy looked at me.

"See mommy" I told her and she ran to me and held me.

"Phil" she said concerned and him as well.

He carried me up to my room and left me there.

Jaclyn

"Phil that couldn't be.... It can't he's...... gone there is no way he could have called her" I told Phil and he held me.

"Maybe we all are filled with sadness we just imagined the phone call" he said.

"Phil I wasn't imagining anything that was Daniel on the phone!"

I stood looking at Phil when Chenzy started to walk down the stairs.

"Mommy what are you guys talking about" Chenzy asked me and I ran to her.

"Nothing honey just go back to your room and play with your toys me and Phil are having a grown up conversation" I told her and she walked back up the stairs.

I looked back at Phil and he sat himself on the counter on the island in the kitchen.

"Daniel left his daughter and she doesn't know, I want it to stay that way!"

A bang came from Chenzys room.

"Chenzy. are you okay" I said and no answer.
