James's POV

Over the next few weeks I became quite close with Jemma and she spent most of her time with us Marauders. She definitely was a great help to the pranks we pulled off and she helped us get away from a few, using secret passage ways even we didn't know about...

Jemma was definitely different and always took control when a situation was going wrong. She was smart, cunning, brave, beautiful, charming, it's a wonder she wasn't in Slytherin! Thank merlin she ain't!

I entered the common room one afternoon to find her and Lily curled up on the sofa near the fire on this cold winters day, deep in conversation.

Now don't get me wrong, I like Lily, she's very pretty, but over the past few weeks I've realised that she wouldn't give me a chance even if i pestered her to the max, so as I've grown close to Jemma I thought about getting to know her better and see where that goes.

I walked up to the two, "hello beautiful ladies" I said whilst sitting down on the other side to Jemma.

Lily rolled her eyes and Jemma just raised her eyebrows at me in a mocking way.

I smirked at her before turning back to lily. She was watching the fire intently, obviously trying not to give me even the slightest bit of attention.

"So lily, had any more love pronunciations from Snivelly lately?" I asked still smirking.

Earlier in the week you see, lily and Snivelly were hanging out together as they do, and no, I'm not jealous. But they were just chatting and then suddenly out of nowhere, Snivelly says he loves her!! And of course Lily's reaction is just like "WHATTTT!!!" and so she just gets up and leaves. That's the end of it!

Lily went bright pink. "No Potter!" She snapped. "That was just a mistake that Severus made and i forgive him for that. Anyway, I bet you've never got a love proclamation!' she ended smirking

"Actually, sorry to disappoint you Lily, but I get plenty of love proclamations everyday!" I said smug. "Around valentines day they become much more frequent but I get a few here and there ya know because I'm just such the heartthrob?!"

Jemma snorted with laughter unable to contain herself any longer. However, Lily's smirk had completely been wiped off her face, and in it's place there was a scowl of annoyance.

Oh, that's probably not that good

"Not every girl is in love with you Potter! But you're just too blind dumb to realise it!" She snarled at me.

"Well at least I don't run away from my admirers!" I retorted

"Well at least I acknowledge those who compliment me."

"Well at least I know I'm not too bad looking"

"Well at least I know how to not break people's hearts"

"Well at least I-"

"-UGH GUYS GIVE IT A REST!" Jemma shouted in between up with either hand in each of our faces. "You sound like a pair of 5 year olds squabbling over a favourite toy! Grow up!"

"Well at least I know how to act my age" lily said under her breath but still loud enough for Jemma to hear.

"Lily, stop!" Jemma said rather harshly. "You guys are always fighting, it's messing up my brain! So in other words, STOP!"
