Chapter 19 - Damn, I though I had a shot

James's POV

Jemma and Malfoy disappeared in a flash of white light and then there was nothing where the were previously standing

I felt my heart sink at the thought of her being gone.

She truly was amazing

Oh shit I'm going soft

"Mr Potter, I should tell you to return to your common room now" Dumbledore told me

"Uh, yeah, yes sir, I will, thanks" I said and started to make my way back towards the Gryffindor common room.

When walking back I started thinking of all the memories I had of Jemma, from our first kiss after the amazing prank we pulled off, to the room of requirement, to long nights in the common room falling asleep together

I will miss her for sure

She will however always have a place in my heart, no one can change that

Yes I may love Eva--Lily as well but I will never forget Jemma

She was one of a kind

I reached the portrait hole with the fat lady inside writing on some parchment

"Password?" She asked

"Fortuna Major"

The portrait hole swung open giving me a view of the common room with everyone in there. It wasn't long before I spotted my group, the legendary marauders, also with the girls from Jemma's dorm, another thing Jemma did. Unite our two groups

The though of her made me smile as I made my way over to the sofas and plonked myself in between Sirius and Alice.

"God Prongs you are actually quite heavy you know!" Sirius told me pushing me off and onto Alice

"AGHH James get off!" Alice said shoving me back over to Padfoot

"Hey, I don't want him!" Padfoot shouted shoving me again

"Well neither do I!" She shouted pushing me yet again

"HEY! Stop pushing me!!" I shouted

Both Padfoot and Alice then pushed me off the couch and onto the floor and moved closer into the middle showing there was no room for me to sit there

""You guys are mean" I told them pouting

"Yeah and your fat!" Padfoot told me

"Hey!" I exclaimed making everyone else laugh

"Hey Potter, where's Jemma?" Lily asked me making me sigh

"She's gone" I said looking into the fire

"What do you mean 'she's gone'?" Lily asked cautiously

"It means she's gone, not here anymore" I told her thinking up a lie in my head "her mum wanted her back so she could be homeschooled again, they're moving to America" I told them making them all stare at me wide eyed

"Oh" Lily said basically summing up all their reactions

"Yeah" I said sighing

"Damn, I thought I had shot with her!" Padfoot suddenly said making us all start laughing except me

"Hey! She was going out with me!" I said

"So are you going to make it a long distance relationship then?" Remus asked me making me chuckle to myself, yes it would certainly be a very long distance relationship, considering she's from the future and all

"No, we said we'd split, so if she meets someone in America or if I meet some one here, we wouldn't be holding each other back" I told them sneaking a glance at Lily who had a small smile on her face

"So did you get an address so we can owl her?" Alice asked

"No she didn't say"

"Well she has to pack right?" Lily asked looking at me "I mean all her stuff is still upstairs"

"She told me to tell you that you can have all her clothes upstairs, she said she had enough at home" I told Lily

"Really?" She said not believing it

"Yup" I said popping the 'p'

"I'm ganna miss her, she was quite a part in our group" said Jess, a girl from their dorm

"Yeah, she was quite the character" Remus said making me smile at more memories

We all sat there for whoever knows how long, thinking of Jemma and the impact she had had on our lives in such a small space of time. I would certainly miss her, like I said before. We all stayed silent before separating and going up to our dorms when the fire started to go out.

I trudged up and slipped out of my clothes and slid into bed with only my boxers on

"Hey Prongs" I heard Padfoot call in the darkness

"Yeah Paddy"

"Did you love her?" He asked in the dark making me automatically know who he was talking about

I thought for a minute, well I already know I loved her, she was special for me, special enough to leave a massive imprint in my life

"Yeah Pad, I did, and I most certainly will for the near future years"

"Yeah, hopefully you'll meet again one day" he told me

"Yeah, hopefully"

I thought because I'm such a nice person I'd also post another small chapter for you lovely lot as this book is near the end.
