"Grayson? What do you think you're doing? I set this lunch up for Emma. And only Emma."

I thought it was sweet that Ethan was trying to keep it a double date but I honestly don't see what the big deal is. I enjoy both of their company and if Grayson wants to stay he should be able to.

"Gray can stay Ethan, it's okay"

I laugh a bit. Maybe the cliche 'annoying little brother' is true, but I thought this was a little too silly to be getting this serious.

"See E, she wants me"

He smirked and sat down.

Ethan's POV:

I seriously can not believe Grayson right now.

He knew that I had to call in advance, an hour after the tour ended to set up this date, and clear out all the customers. I did it before she even had the chance to say yes, and he ruined it before I had the chance to make it perfect.

Of course Emma doesn't see what Grayson is trying to do. We always compete for girls and when I finally find one I want to spend time with he just can't stay away. I hope Emma can see the effort I am putting in, and the effort he is not.

Emma's POV:

He brought out these two plates, covered with gourmet food and luxurious sauces. It was evident all of the effort he was putting in to make this special.

"Nothing for Gray?"

He sat at the corner of the table with his pulled up chair, watching us start to pick at our food.

"Nah, Gray has had enough"

Ethan looks at Grayson and he rolls his eyes. I look at them both and start to question what's really going on.

"Emma, can I have some of yours?"

The last thing I was expecting was Grayson to ask for some of my food, but I wasn't going to say no. And I felt bad since Ethan and I were eating and he didn't have anything.

"Uh Sure."

A giggle followed. It seemed so weird to say.

He pulled his chair right up to mine and looked Ethan right in the eye before taking his extra fork and swirling it around in my noodles.

"So Emma, what are some of your favorite things to do?"

I honestly had no idea who said that, but I look up to Ethan staring right at me.

"I love to sing. And act, perform on stage. It's always been my passion."

"What kind of music?"

That one came from Grayson.

"Theatre music. My favorite is Hamilton."

I blushed. I felt kind of on the outside because it is the complete opposite to what they listen to but whatever. My passions are my passions and my plan was just to stick to being myself, as intimidating as this double (triple) date is.

"Interesting."

He played with my noodles some more.

"Are you going to eat those?"

He swirled and picked at them but never brought them to his perfect pink lips and it was driving me nuts.

"I'd rather eat something else."

I blushed.

Ethan interrupted and broke the silence by putting his plate in between us.

"Here, if you want something else then eat mine."

Grayson stabbed a small potato and brought it to his mouth while staring into my eyes, never breaking the eye contact.

"Who's ready for dessert?"

Ethan stood up and I turned to look at him, almost feeling caught doing something I should't have been. He clenched his jaw and tilted his head down, and at that moment his looks could kill.

I wasn't sure what was with their stares, almost as if when they looked at you they grabbed your soul, altered it, and then let you go. It was dangerously inciting.

I didn't finish my lunch when Ethan asked if we were ready for dessert, but I said yes anyway to break some of the silence and clear the air.

He left the room again but within seconds came back.

"Hey Gray, wanna join me in the kitchen?"

Ethan's POV:

"What are you doing. Stop flirting with Emma!"

"It's not flirting if she reciprocates the feelings bro. She wants me."

"You're forcing her. Putting her in a situation where she has no choice but to let you eat her noodles. Seriously Gray, this was my idea, my date, stop ruining the one thing I have to myself"

I grabbed the chocolate fudge french cake off the counter, decorated with mint and chocolate sauce and walked out of the metal door to reveal my beautiful date. She was sitting all alone at the small wooden table, not big enough for three.

Her eyes shot up to me and her cheeks looked flushed, embarrassed by the whole day.

"I'm sorry Emma. This was supposed to turn out better."

"It's fine Ethan, it's perfect."

I'm not sure if she really meant it or not, but to me it was ruined. All thanks to one person and one person only.

Speaking of the devil, Grayson walked through the kitchen doors heading right to the exit.

"See ya Emma."

Emma's POV:

I watched him walk away with a bit of disappointment in my eyes. I'm not sure what Ethan said to him in the Kitchen, but it must have been extreme if it made him leave right away. Grayson didn't seem to be the kind to get his feelings hurt by his brother, but maybe there is a whole other part I'm missing. Whatever it is, I'm sure I will find out sooner or later because I definitely want to hang with Ethan again. And of course, have Grayson be the guest star.

I took a bite of the chocolate cake, it was rich and sweet and fudge dripped down the side melting the plush cake as it fell.

I took a bite, and looked up to find Ethan was watching me the whole time.

He had a huge grin on his face, I probably looked like a little girl tasting chocolate for the first time. Honestly, despite the cake, it was him, that was making me radiate. He was the reason the cake tasted so good. If anyone else had made it, it would just be cake.

But for some reason with him, nothing is just as simple chocolate cake.
