I wake up to the annoying sound of my alarm clock that seemed to never shut up until I hit it. I somehow managed to fall asleep in my jeans and T-shirt that I was apparently too lazy to take off last night.
Dragging myself out of bed, Carly is gone and all I see is a packed suitcase at my feet. She left a little note on top with her almost perfect handwriting in purple pen.
"Don't have too much fun without me. Love you bud! -Car"
I smiled at the idea of her writing the little letter. And went to the bathroom to wash up and get ready for my flight.
"Mom, you ready?"
I ran to her room in excitement and saw her little suitcase at the door. She was a petite woman like me and packed very lightly, she should teach me her ways because I definitely consider myself an over-packer.
Soon enough we were about to leave the house as my dad and two sisters came running up to me with open arms. Marissa, the best hugger, squeezed me so hard for what seemed like 20 minutes.
"Mari! I have to go" I said giggling and she backed off.
Julia was next and my dad followed.
"Good luck with the Dolan brothers!"
I rolled my eyes and hauled my suitcase out the door first.
"Love you" I smiled and shut the door behind me.
A silver car was parked outside of our house which was our Uber to the airport. He took our stuff putting it in the trunk and opened the doors signaling us to get in.
My favorite song, Never Be Like You was playing on the radio and I already knew this trip would be amazing.
After 30 minutes of staring out the window, and watching each tree as it passes, the Uber driver comes to a stop and here we are, at the Newark airport.
I lived in a New Jersey, where the boys lived, but it is much harder to find them than you think. They seemed to be everywhere and nowhere, and even though they were only about an hour away it seemed like forever.
My mom and I get out of the car and head into the airport. Airports get me so excited thinking about traveling, and how much fun I'll be having fun in France. However watching people saying goodbye to loved ones is so hard to watch, too bad Carly will be having to do that soon when she goes to California for college.
Security is never fun, followed by a million other checks, and luggage difficulties, but somehow we managed to go through all of it as just the two of us. We sat down on the not so comfortable airport chairs and waited for the plane to board.
40 minutes
30 minutes
20, and 10."Everyone boarding flight 203, please make your way to gate 5"
I snap out of my small daze and get up with my mother. Along with about 100 other people, we walk to the gate to start filling the plane. Along my small walk, I spot many other beautiful girls and wonder if they're here for the same reason I am.
I hope not- because the last thing I want are gorgeous girls meeting the twins too, especially since I can't compete with my big nose and baby-looking-face. (Which I'm supposed to love but I don't).
Within no time, I'm sitting in my seat anxiously waiting for it to take off. I pop in a piece of gum to relieve some of the pressure that will be soon exploding my eardrums.
"Welcome, to American Airlines. We thank you for choosing us as your company today, and hope we have a safe and fast flight. Please make sure all trays are pushed in, seats are up, and seatbelts are fastened. A light will appear when you take take them off. Enjoy your flight!"
I shut my eyes and doze off, dreaming about the things that could be with the boys.
Before I know it, my mom is hitting my arm trying to get me to wake up before we land. I look out the window and the scenery is completely different, but gorgeous none the less.
"Welcome to Mulhouse..."
