Yugi sighed as he flopped onto his bed, skimming over what he did today. In all honesty, he did the same things he did everyday: woke up, had breakfast, had homeschooling, had lunch, looked after the store for a couple hours, relaxed, made dinner, ate dinner, and retreated to his room. He was nine years old and should be outside playing with the other kids who lived in the neighborhood. But due to certain reasons, he couldn't.
He felt a cold but comforting pressure hug him. He looked to the side to see an almost-transparent figure floating next to him with a smile. He smiled back. "Hey, sis? Why am I not allowed outside?" Yugi asked once more. Yugi, knowing she was going to give the same answer as always, spoke up once more. "And don't tell me I'm too young to understand. Please." His eyes showed an emotion he didn't show often: pleading sadness.
The spirit who happened to be his late sister, Jessie Mutou, sighed. "Yugi, as Gramps told you, you're a... unique person. If anyone caught you doing things that aren't normal, they would want to take you away." She placed a hand on Yugi's cheek. "He's only trying to protect you, dear."
Yugi smiled mentally. Jessie was more like a mother than a sister, but he didn't mind. He never knew his mother so he was happy his sister was there. He sighed. "I know that already... But its lonely. I have you and Gramps, sure. But I'm not allowed to make any real friends." He looked up at Jessie as a tear fell down his face. "I just want a true friend. One who will protect me, who wouldn't betray me, would always be there and not leave me. One who I would protect as well, one I wouldn't betray, one I could be there for."
Jessie wiped the tear. "I know, love." Then a thought occurred to her. "I have an idea. However, it'll involve being sneaky." Yugi nodded, letting her know to continue. "I know this child. He was your best friend. You and he were inseparable." There was something else but she hesitated, not wanting to tell him till he was older. "I don't know if he'll remember you. Do you remember him? He looked like you with some changes."
And image popped into his head. It was an image of a child like him smiling at him. The only differences were the skin tone, bangs, eyes and hair tips. The skin tone was more Egyptian-like, his bangs were similar but three of them shot up his hair like lightning bolts, and the colors of his eyes and hair tips were crimson instead of Yugi's amethyst. "I do! I dunno how, but I do!" Yugi said with a bright expression.
Jessie smiled. "Why not send a letter to him? She suggested. "I'm sure if you explain your situation, he will gladly be your friend. If need be I can help you spell words and write the letter."
Yugi nodded enthusiastically. "Please!"

Yami Sennen,
You might not remember me, but I remember you! We used to be best friends! According to my family member, we were inseparable! I've been lonely the past few years and she suggested I write to you! But Gramps can't know, so please keep these letters a secret! I don't want to have to stop sending letters to you!
Oh, I should introduce myself! My name is Yugi Mutou. I'm nine and I live in the Kame Game Shop in Domino City, Japan! Its nice except for the fact that my grandfather and I are the only wizards in town. Its because of this I'm not allowed outside. My magic is somewhat chaotic, and because of this it's sealed off till I can go to wizarding school.
Because of the fact that we could get easily discovered if Gramps used magic, our household is a magic-free zone. Unless you count the Floo, Daily Prophet and our owl, Slifer. I don't since they're easy to hide. My sealed magic isn't however, so Gramps hired a home school teacher who knows about wizards to teach me muggle subjects. I'm not allowed outside should the seal weaken and my magic leaks.
Anyways, I hope we can become good friends! I told my family member I wanted a true friend, and that's why she suggested I send this letter to you! I took the suggestion. I want to be someone you can count on, someone who won't betray you, someone who can protect you. I hope you can be the same to me. Anyways, I hope you respond!
Sincerely, Yugi Mutou
Yugi smiled as he reread his letter to make sure it sounded okay. Jessie smiled down as Yugi wrapped it and attached it to Slifer's leg. Slifer was an odd owl; he had red feathers instead of the normal brown, black, white, ect. Yugi didn't mind; he loved Slifer!
Yugi smiled. "Thank you for this, Slifer. Please don't let Gramps find any mail that comes from Yami, okay?" Yugi watched as Slifer gave the owl equivalent of a nod. He watched as Slifer flew out his skylight that was in his room.
Hopefully Yami agreed to be his friend.

Yugi Mutou,
I do remember you! I am so glad you remember me; I was hoping you would! Thank you for sending a letter; it was sweet of you. I hope I can ease your loneliness. Don't worry; I would never risk letting anyone find out, save for my adopted brothers. They know that should they reveal any of my secrets, they'll regret it.
My name is Yami Sennen, though you already know that. I live in the Sennen Manor in Cairo, Egypt, with my parents and adopted brothers, Marik and Bakura Sennen. In all honesty, I get lonesome as well. The manor is so big that it seems lonely, especially when I'm the only one in the house.
I feel bad for you; if I could I would teach you to control your magic. As for your homeschooling, I may have a way that you can learn about some of the wizarding world, as it seems you don't know much except communication and basic culture. I have books I can send if you wish to read them.
Do you know what wizarding school you will be attending when you are of age to attend one? I am attending Hogwarts with my brothers and their fiancées. I hope you attend Hogwarts as well; it would be nice to meet you.
I would love to be friends with you. I can promise you, Yugi; I will protect you, I will not betray you, and you can always come to me for a shoulder to lean on. I will be there whenever I can. Should you need me, I will be there. I promise you. I look forward to being your friend.
Sincerely, Yami Sennen
Yugi beamed. Yami actually answered! He had gained a friend. He smiled at his sister. "Sis! I mare a friend! Thank you so much!" He said, before pulling out the materials needed for writing another letter.
Jessie smiled and kissed her little brother's temple, who blushed at the affection. "I will do anything for you, dear." She said before disappearing into the locket to leave her brother to write his letter in peace.
She was glad for her brother for gaining a true friend; Yugi simply thanks his sister for being there for him as she always was.
