Once again, I awoke. Sweat stained my nightshirt and pillow. I could not stop reliving my nightmares. My past. I felt stiff and in pain sore. Then I remembered... The mission. I don't remember much other than falling. I opened my eyes to reveal an unfamiliar, dark room littered with paper and candles. Realization dawned on me I scanned the room, but I couldn't summon the energy to move. I wondered how on earth I had got here and where here was, and who the heck's clothes I was wearing!? A man stood in the back of the room facing a small bench which resembled a small kitchen. He turned around with a small cup in his hands and walked in my direction. "Ah, you're awake!" relief shone from his large sapphire blue eyes.

"Where am I?" My voice horse.

"Somewhere you'll be safe, now drink up" he handed me the small cup. I summoned the energy to clasp the cup. I hesitated. Should I seriously be taking some drink from some stranger? I mean for all I know he could be trying to poison me! No. If he wanted me dead I wouldn't be here. I engulfed the contents. The liquid burned down my throat but it felt soothing after.

"How did I get here?" I asked clenching my throat in some weird attempt at relieving the pain as the words came out.

He reached over and grabbed a chair and sat down.

"Well, I am a hunter in the black forest. I spotted you being chased by the beast, so I took advantage of your little 'diversion'." He held up a hand and wiggled his fingers in an amusing sort of way. "I stayed relatively close just in case, you know, it ate you then came after me sorta thing..." He shrugged as if it were a casual thing. You know being eaten by a giant fury monster.

"Gee thanks" I replied although my throat still burned at the attempted sarcasm.

"Once you were well out of the way and so was the beast, I travelled north to hunt for some rabbits. After I had found nothing, I started to travel back when I saw you climb down the fence around the clock tower, I hid in a bush after I realized how stupidly close I had gotten to both of you. I watched you when you jumped. That was quite a fall by the way. After you landed and didn't move, the beast moved away, probably figured you were dead." Again Thanks. 'I figured it probably wouldn't be the best idea for you to be there, all expose and all and if someone had come around, well that wouldn't have ended well... Anyway, I climbed the fence, and had a quick look for any guards. Once I was happy no one was around I went over to see if you were still alive and hopefully conscious. But you weren't so lucky me!" He held his arms up in a pathetic little cheer. "So I eventually got you here, which by the way, you are heavier than you look" Wow, just wow. "And yea you've been here for the past few days.. Welcome to my house!" He held his arms open wide and smiled. But can we just wind back just a bit, before I have a mini panic attack...

"A few days!" I had been out for a few days!

"-yeah" he looked at me as if to say 'yes did you not hear me?'

"Oh man! The mission..." I whispered to myself. "Okay, listen buddy I appreciate the little rescue an' all but I gotta go." With that I pulled the bed cover off and tried to sit up while swinging my legs to the right in an attempt to get up but my bod protested and my right leg screamed in pain as I tried to move it and as a result so did I. My head pun a little and the urge to throw up suddenly came to mind. I looked down at the source of the pain and a wooden splint was strapped to the outside of my leg with what looks to be a , used to be white crape bandage wrapped around my leg.

"Yea maybe not such a great idea" Oh so he decides to tell me now. "I'm no doctor, but from what i can tell you have a, pretty badly, broken leg, bruised ribs and probably a minor concussion judging by the egg on your head and the huge bruise." Great.

With that I decided to lay back down. "So tell me Mr Hunter, what changed your mind about helping seeing as though you clearly thought, at some point, I was going to die?" I asked

"Because, you once did the same for me."
