I gasped and woke up startled from the nightmare I just had I took a deep breath in and took in my surroundings I was still on the bus and the sun was up. I looked at the front where the clock was and the time read 3:20pm. I rubbed my eyes, damn I fell asleep for quite some time. I yawned and stretched my arms over my head. The bus ride would take about a whole day so I still had a long time to go. Glancing to make sure no one was looking at me I stuffed my duffel bag under the seat and stood up to use the restroom. I did my business and hurriedly came back to my seat putting my duffel back on my lap.
Suddenly I noticed I felt something sharp in my back, taking off my backpack I checked the laptop pocket and gasped. I had left my old laptop in my bag and I didn't even realize it. I pulled it out and started it up, thank god there was wifi on the bus and it was fully charged. I decided to just watch some movies for now, later I'd maybe look into some apartments in the city or nearby.
A few hours had passed and the bus was making a stop in a bus station for gas and to pick up more passengers. We were also allowed to leave to stretch. I got off the bus with my bags and made my way to the bathroom.
I had used the bathroom and brushed my teeth in the sink. I splashed my face with cold water to freshen myself up, I looked into the mirror and took in how I looked. I had deep eyebags under my light blue eyes, making them look dull and lifeless. My skin was also looking dull, my hair was flat thankfully not oily yet. I tried to smile but it was forced and I looked like I had gotten punched in the jaw. I sighed and picked up my bags and left. I still had some time so I decided to buy a sandwich from one of the stores here.
While I was browsing a man stood next to me, "Yuck, maybe I should have eaten something before coming here, huh?" He picked up a cold turkey sandwich and looked at it with disgust.
"Yea totally," I tensed up but relaxed when I realized he wasn't a wolf, I took his features in he looked to be around his 20's, he had a slim muscular frame, he had sleeked back dirty blond hair and he was wearing a blue long sleeve with jeans and had a duffel bag around his shoulder. I shuddered a little when a slight fall breeze blew through the open bus station.
"So what is a kid like you doing traveling alone?" The man looked up at me and I was startled. Holy shit. He knows. He's probably going to call the cops and ill be dragged home. Noticing I was startled the man started laughing.
"Hey don't worry I get it, I won't snitch you out. I noticed you when we got on the bus in New Orleans, saw the whole encounter with the ticket lady, if I wanted to rat you out I would've." The man smiled at me with his pearly whites and I just frowned at him confused before I could speak he took the food out of my hands and paid for it at the counter.
