Aisha glanced down at her stomach and let out a sigh. Her eyes quickly glanced at me as I held the phone to my ear. I attempted to smile at her but I couldn't get the scrawl off my face. I turned my attention back to the phone.

"Chris I have told them time and time again! No this is starting to piss me off because I know that they are gonna turn around and say I didn't do what I was meant to."

"Aneel, just calm down, okay? I know what they do and the both of us get told that all the time as well. I will talk to you later when you have calmed down."

Once I put the phone down on the table, Aisha walked up to me and put a hand on my shoulder. As I felt her lips on my skin, I let out a sigh. I closed my eyes for a second as I inhaled sharply.

"I know it's stressful, babe, but I'm the one carrying the child and I'm the one that's gonna be cut open tomorrow to take this little princess out." I opened my eyes to meet her smile. With another sigh, I let out some of the tension inside of me.

"When we planned this, I didn't think it would turn out like this," I admitted with a small smile. She kissed my cheek again before coming to sit down next to me. "I always thought we'd be at home or wherever the hell it is, and then your water would break and you start freaking out and I start freaking out. Then we would have to wait for you contractions to come and blah blah. I just wanted that rush, you know? The fear and happiness of becoming a dad being compressed into a few hours." I heard her laugh and looked up with a smile. After securing her hand in mine, I raised it to my lips. "I'm happy though. We went through this quite quickly and I'm so sorry if you feel we moved too quick but I've always been that kind of person. I just want to tell you how much I love you and how much you mean to me. You being my wife, my best friend, the mother of my- our- child is a gift I can never repay you."

"Well, couldn't have done it without you, now could I?" I shook my head with a laugh. She always had to ruin the moment. She suddenly gasped but before I could freak out, she grinned. "Can we go outside and lie down on the sofa? Like we used to do? One last time with our little princess."

I relaxed back into the chair but she quickly pulled me up and started to drag me into the sitting room. Shaking my head, I admired her as she rambled on about what food she was craving and how much she was going to bleed. That's basically all she had been talking about for the last month- how much she was going to bleed after she gave birth.

Once I finished moving the sofa into the balcony, I walked up to Aisha, circling my arms around her. I softly kissed her shoulder and she tilt her head back to peck my lips. "I love you," she mumbled.

"I know." I kissed her again but as expected, she started laughing when I ran a hand up her back. "I love you too." I moved the hair away from her face with a smile before kissing her again. "You got your snacks or we just gonna stand here all day?"

"I just need to go to the toilet quickly. Can you just take this tray?"

Just before I left the kitchen, I heard Aisha calling me from the bathroom. "What is it, babe?"

"You know what I can't wait to have again? Sushi! And red bull! And my coffee. Costa is gonna be my best friend."

"I think you're gonna have to wait on the coffee babe. You're not really meant to have it while breastfeeding."

I heard her gasp and rolled my eyes at her dramatic behaviour. It was only coffee. Actually, I don't think I could live without coffee in a year too. But she did a very good job refraining from it as she was practically addicted to it.

"Aneel."

"Yes?"

"My water broke."

"Okay. Just- What?" I quickly put the tray down and unlocked the bathroom door from outside. Aisha was just looking between her legs with her eyes wide open.
