I paced around the bathroom, waving the stick around in my hand. This wasn't meant to happen, not like this, not this fast. I know it's been six years but we never once talked about having kids. I heard the door open and then the empty house filled with the laughter of Chris and my daughter.

"Honey, I'm home," she said with a giggle. I gently put the stick into the cabinet, hiding it away behind my blades.

Once I walked out the bathroom, I was greeted by my daughter who attacked me with a hug. Chris was busy taking off his shoes at the front so he didn't really notice my flustered state. I quickly took a deep breath in before he turned around. I saw him smile and slowly felt myself relax.

"Missed you today. Haven't seen you since morning." He pulled Lilly off me with a laugh. "It's my turn to give mummy a hug now," he said before lowering his lips to mine. "You okay, honey? You seem a bit off," he whispered with a frown.

I quickly nodded my head. He didn't seem to buy it but didn't ask any more questions. I glanced down at Lilly was who standing there, attempting to hang up her jacket. Chris followed my gaze and chuckled before holding her by the hips and lifting her up.

"Thank you, Daddy," she giggled before running to her room. He looked back at me and frowned again.

"Honey, come on, we don't keep things from each other. Please tell me what's wrong because I don't like seeing you like this." I bit my lip as I looked down at the ground. I felt my muscles start to tense up as I slowly met his worried eyes.

"I'm pregnant," I whispered. His frown depended and I felt the tears start to burn my eyes.

"Is that it?" I snapped my head towards him. "Baby, I thought you were dying or something," he said with a laugh. Just before I could get angry, he cupped my cheeks and kissed me. "So, we gonna have a little one running around the house in about a year?" I saw him grinning as he looked me in the eye. I felt myself relax as I leaned into his touch.

"I'm four months...I thought it was just stress from work and I was too busy with everything that I completely forgot to track my period. Listen, I know that haven't sat down and talked about kids properly and-"

"Nonsense! I told you I wanted a big family when we first started dating." I gently put my arms around his neck.

"But you didn't say you wanted it with me." He rolled his eyes and extended his arm to flick my nose.

"I wouldn't have married you if you weren't the woman. And plus, even if we didn't have anymore kids, I'm okay with what I got. I've got two very special women who look up to me for which I would do anything for. I never wanted to actually sit down and talk about it because I never wanted you to feel bad. What if I wanted a baby and you didn't? It's your body, honey. I would have no right in saying what to do with it. I was kind of waiting for you to come to me and say it." He kissed me again but pulled away with a frown. "You do want this, right?"

I laughed at him before leaning up to kiss him again. "Of course I do. The only problem I have now is telling Lils."

"We'll do it together." He sighed and kissed me again. "I can't believe we're having another baby."

I patted his cheek with a smirk on my face. "It might kick in in about five months." I then let my hands drop and made my way down the hall. It only took a couple of seconds for Chris to wrap his arms around me again.

"I really am happy about this, honey. You know that right?"

I turned around with a smile, raising a hand to his cheek. "Of course I do."
