It all started the day I ran into her.
I skipped school that day to hang with my best friend Keonte', we haven't talk to each other for awhile since my mother and his father fell apart. It was extremely bad and over something reckless.
We walked around all day at the town shopping center that was only a few blocks away from my school. Whenever me and Keonte' were together we're the topic of everyone's conversations. We get looked at from all women from every age. I mean we both knew how handsome we are, there wasn't any doubts. We held are heads up high. It was a pact we made as kids to be the most popular people in our town. So far it's accomplished. Keonte' and I are what everyone calls us 'Ebony and Ivory' or better yet The Princes of Dalesville.
Keonte' is mixed with African American and German. He has a deep caramel skin that he keeps, well he calls it manscapped and he adds tattoos every year to it. He has these bright gray eye that I use to be afraid of as kids because they reminded me so much of cats. He has shoulder length dreads that he also kept neatly done. Everyday is a new hair style, I don't even know when he has the time to get it done. He is just a little taller than I am, he always pull some type of joke with my height. We had very different styles, he keeps up on the latest fashion trend while I just wear what I thought was comfortable.
"You know bro, if you take that beanie off you'll get girls." He said throwing his arm over my shoulder and leaning on me.
"I already have girls." I shrugged his arm off of me and walked into McDonalds.
"That not I what I mean, I mean more." He paused. "Like this honey." He deepened his voice as he leaned on the counter flirting with the cashier.
I don't know why he hates the beanie I wear. I always thought it was lucky. I took the gray beanie off and finger combed my blond hair. I've been putting off getting it cut. I use to have this type fade where the sides was shaved off leaving the top part on my hair but now the short bangs grew over the summer and were hanging down in my face and my hair started growing back on the side. But I still get the girlies with this look, they can't deny me.
The girl swooned just by one look at us and was flustered. Keonte' does that on purpose. He'll say something sweet towards here and get us free lunches. For the sake of it I add in a wink.
We turned and laughed but to my surprise there was a girl standing by the soda fountain with a phone in her hand. I noticed her school uniform, she was wearing a grey skirt with a white polo and a burgundy cross tie. I thought instantly she was taking a picture and so I smiled to rile her up. Keonte' whispered in my ear saying he's going to put the moves on her so we continued to walk towards her but she ran away.
"Bummer," He groaned. "She was cute too."
I shrugged my shoulders.
"If you say so."
Later the next day I ran into her again and come to find out she used me as a scapegoat for her lies. My first thought was to use her just to make everything right. An eye for an eye. But I didn't expect her to comply so fast. She got on her knees in front of me and meowed like a cat. She was extremely desperate to keep these girl as her friends. Pathetic. I walked away laughing.
Khalia Montello. Keonte' gave her the nickname Kitty Cat from my new found love for cats and also told me the reason why I'm going to put up with all of this because she reminds me of a cat with her emerald green eyes. I didn't deny him, it could be the reason. First I thought because it was funny just to see her do things I told her. But she was a good little pet of mines, well sometime. If we all want to be truly honest, I LOVE TORTUING HER!
