**Recap: Eliza rushes to the gates of the camp to see that her father is somehow alive, and then faints**
I could hear voices all around me, but they were very muffled. I wasn't able to remember what happened, where I was, or how I got there; all I knew was that I couldn't move, everything was dark, and my head hurt a lot. Did I fall again?
The voices became more clear, and when I opened my eyes I couldn't see anything. Did I go blind, I thought to myself, but then soon heard Jason ask someone to take the rag that was over my eyes off. Idiot, I thought to myself again. Suddenly I was blinded, but after a few blinks my eyes adjusted and I saw the faces of those around me; Jason, Lizzie, and my dad, the man whom I thought was dead for nearly 5 months.
I immediately started to sob as I threw my arms around his neck and buried my face into his shirt, his scent becoming more familiar than nostalgic as it once was. I cried and felt the all too familiar hot salty tears run down my cheeks for I don't even know how long as he wrapped one arm around my neck to hold me closer against him. Once I was finally able to form a somewhat coherent sentence, I pulled away from him and wiped my eyes.
"H-how is this even possible? They told us you were dead" I shakily asked him
"They thought I was dead, but I didn't know if they were there to protect us or to hurt us, so I pretended to be dead and left with the bodies they disposed" He said as he held his head in his hand with his elbow perched on his knee
I stood up, suddenly pissed at everyone because I knew someone was lying to me; either Dad or everyone since that day I was told what happened to him. I need to get out of here, I thought to myself
"Whoa whoa whoa, where do you think you're going, Little Miss?" Dad asked as he grabbed my arm to keep me from leaving
"Someone is lying to me, and I'm going to find out who. Be it you or Jason, I don't know, but I'm finding out who it is," I said
"Why would I lie to you about my whereabouts these past 5 months?" Dad asked, slowly getting annoyed
"Because they told me that you were bitten and that they shot you" I said flatly as I ripped my arm away from him.
I couldn't think straight, and I didn't feel like visiting Jason because of the situation, so I went to Jack's tent to see if I could talk to him. Before I could even see if anyone was inside, I was grabbed by my arm and was pulled into the tent. My vision went a bit fuzzy from being jolted around, but I quickly was greeted by the worried but gloomy Jason. He stared at me with his big blue eyes and I could see all the different emotions swirling around in his head through his eyes.
"Well?? Where have you been? Are you okay? Are the rumors true? Is he really-" I cut off his rambling with a tight hug, my arms tightening around his neck and his did the same around my waist.
"Yes, I'm okay. I don't know how or why I fainted, but I think I hit my head pretty well, but not badly enough where I have a concussion," I told Jack. He nodded but looked at me like he had another question that he wanted answered.
"Yes," I started, "he's alive. And here. I don't know where though, I last left him in Medical"
Jack stood up and ran his fingers through his hair. He looked distressed at the news, as if he wished that it weren't true. He balled his hands into fists and began to leave the tent. I wanted to know where he was going, but I knew better than to ask when he's like this; he needs his space, but I stood up and decided to follow him to see what he was going to do. I stayed maybe ten or fifteen feet behind him so he wouldn't immediately notice that I was following him, and I saw him go into my tent and I soon heard him talking to Jason, who had been in there since he left Dad and I in Medical.
