Fumbling with her new keys Mina
somehow managed to unlock the
front door of her new apartment.
Sighing she pulled her suitcase inside
and shut the door. Mina had never
seen her new apartment, heck she's
never even been to Korea before, yet
there was no denying she felt a sense
of being at home. It was a small little
place, yet held all of the necessities.
A simple kitchen, a bathroom, a living
room, and a small bedroom. No matter
how small it was it felt good to finally
have a place of her own. Up until now
she had always lived with her parents
and now she's moved thousands of
miles away all on her own. It seemed
like an unsettling shift and change
to her parents, who had never spent
very long without her.Setting her suitcase down she walked
over to the farthest wall of the living
room. This wall was completely made
of glass and allowed her to view the
beautiful city lights of Seoul, South
Korea. It almost seemed unreal. The
brilliant lights and colors that danced
across her eyes seemed too vibrant to
have names.
The tall reflective buildings seemed to
stretch far beyond the midnight sky
and touch the stars. The noises of the
city and nightlife almost seemed like
music, a cacophony of harmonic
disasters. It was all so beautiful to her.
With her palms and nose pressed
against the glass she then realized this
was definitely one the most beautiful
moments of life. With those thoughts
now mingling and dancing in her head
she went to bed with dreams of towers
and stars with colors that she would
never be able to name.───────────────────────────
It Was Midday Monday when Mina
rolled out of bed, jetlag setting into
her little body. She had arrived
relatively early to Korea, giving her
a full month to adjust before starting
college. No amount of jetlag could stop
her though from seizing the opportunity
to explore the new world around her.
She rushed to get ready throwing
whatever clothes she could find on her
body. Grabbing an apple she slipped on
a coat over her warm knit sweater, since
winter was already in full swing in
Korea. The ride on the elevator was
short and sweet and she soon was
greeted by a ding. The lobby was nice
and clean and she could see that the
landlord was busy cleaning. As she
passed the middle aged woman she
nodded politely to her since she was
busy tidying a few things here and
there. Walking out she was greeted by
a chilly breeze and the bright sun. She
took a breath and could immediately
feel the cool air fill her lungs, making
them expand and feel light and airy.
Smiling she skipped down the steps
and turned the corner when- whack!
She ran directly into someone's chest
sending a flurry of papers, herself and
her half-eaten apple to the ground._______________________________________
After Namjoon's late night shift at the
gas station he was finally making his
way home. Just like any other day he
had picked up a few job applications
in hopes of finding a safer and better
paying job. He was almost home when-
whack! Someone rammed into his chest.
The job applications he was holding
were suddenly released from his grasp,
fluttering around in the slight breeze.
The girl he ran into was about to fall
backwards onto the hard cement at
that very moment. Time slowed for a
moment and Namjoon reacted quickly
grabbing her wrist and yanking her
onto her feet in the process. She seemed
startled, and by the looks of it she was
not from around here.
