Two boys. One at the age of eighteen, the other at the age of twenty six; brothers, is how to describe them and their relationship to one another.
While other boys their age had jobs and were (most of the time) mature, these two weren't even close.
They were in Elliot's backyard, doing what they always used to do as kids. Fencing with wooden swords.
"Have you already forgotten the rules? Only one hand!"
"I am using one hand!"
"You're about to grab it with both! And you're supposed to be the older one!"
Derek playfully growled and did as he was told. But did in fact put up a good fight.
In a spin of events, Elliot knocked the sword from Derek's hand, and it hid itself in the tall grass.
Derek laughed and wrapped his arm around Elliot's neck and ruffled his hair like they always used to do as kids. Him and his dad both did it to him when he was little; and Elliot loved the attention. And he still did.
They picked up the wooden swords and began walked back.
On their way back they walked through the old town.
"Still empty..."
"It's not just gonna suddenly fill with people Lil' Bro."
And then, they saw him. Leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. Looking unfocused and in deep thought like he was before.
Elliot almost literally growled as his eyes filled with nothing but anger.
Derek faced him, worried and confused.
"Elliot what's going on...?"
Elliot didn't say anything, and began toward the blonde vampire, grabbing the handle of his sword. Derek followed.
"What happened???"
Elliot was only able to get one sentence out of his mouth. His teeth were gritted so tightly they felt like they'd shatter. But he didn't care.
"It's his fault... He killed her..."
He knew what Elliot was talking about, and didn't protest anymore as his younger brother walked angrily over to Alphonse.
Alphonse turned his head to face Elliot with a blank expression, but it soon changed to shock and disbelief.
"Elliot?"
Elliot drew his sword and was unbelievably angered by just the presence of this guy.
Alphonse still had yet to take out his sword, no longer leaning against the wall of the abandoned building.
He stood face to face with the smaller boy. And while doing so Elliot had a change to start thinking, before standing up straight and slightly leaning into Alphonse's face like he was having a hard time of seeing. But he was clear on what he was seeing and speaking.
"You aren't a real vampire are you?"
Alphonse took a second to Comprehend what Elliot had just asked. He raised an eyebrow.
