I sat under the tree daydreaming again. I always do. Always have, always will. Hey, its my thing.

The sun was shining brightly today, unlike most days in Autumn. Its usually just rain or cloud. I love the sun.

Guess that’s why my name is Taiyou.

I had my eyes closed and my back pressed tightly against the giant tree trunk. The sun was shining brightly on my face but I didn’t mind. I heard footsteps coming towards me but didn’t bother to open my eyes and see who it was. More like I didn’t need to. I already knew.

“Hello Taiyou-chan” I heard Sai say.

“Hi Sai” I replied, with my eyes still closed in a daydream. I was never actually really relaxed. Even though it always seemed like it. I don't know why.

He sat down beside me and opened up a little green book and placed it on his lap. A sketchbook? No. I opened one eye and peeked at what he was reading. It had better not be an “Icha Icha Paradise” book.

Stupid Jiriaya.

Using me for his “research”.

Pervert.

The book was titled “How to treat a girl you like”. I burst out laughing holding my sides so I wouldn't get a stitch. Oh Sai. What have you gone and done this time? I couldn’t stop laughing even though I knew Sai was staring at me like I was a complete moron.

“Finally going after Ino huh?” I said suggestively as I nudged him with my right arm. “I don’t like Ino.” He replied in his normal monotone voice. It just made everything funnier to me.

“Sure, sure. Whatever you say.” I said in a sarcastic tone of voice. I don’t think he got it. Oh well!

I took another look at the book title and burst out laughing once again. And this is coming from me, a normally quiet and relaxed person.

I couldn’t help it.

“What’s wrong?” I heard Sai ask. I looked over at him giving me a weird look.

“That book doesn’t actually help Sai.” I told him. “Its just someone’s crazy idea of making money.” I said, as I thought of a certain Sannin that deserved that punch I gave him the other time. Stupid Pervert.

He looked confused, but then looked back down at the book.

“It does help.” He said with one of his normal fake smiles on his face. To be honest I actually didn’t mind his fake smiles. It gave me an excuse to beat the hell out of him every time he did it. Hey. Its good training.

But today, I though I would give him a chance.

“Alright, alright. I’ll play along.” I said with my arms now crossed. “Read some to me.” His eyes widened for a second.

“I didn’t think you would like this type of book Taiyou.” He said, still holding the little green book in his hands. What was that supposed to mean?! Humph.

“Well, I am curious.” I stated. He raised an eyebrow at me questioningly, but then flipped the book open and started reading to me. Victory. Or so I thought.

“How to approach a girl that you like:

First you must have a very normal pose that isn’t too stiff or too floppy. You should start a very casual conversation with her and maybe even befriend her to get closer to her. Here are some common conversation starters that will always get a girl hooked and interested immediately.

You look beautiful today

Or maybe

Did you change your hair? The style looks great on you…

You should always tell a girl how you feel about her and what she means to you, but before you get the chance to do that you should have a casual conver—“

I put my hand up as a signal to stop talking and he did. “Okay, you win. Please stop reading to me” I had admitted defeat.

“This isn’t my type of book.” Actually I hadn’t, I just did what I had to, to make him stop the torture of lies about women. I sighed, closed my eyes and stepped back into my world of nothingness and pure relaxation.

“Is there something wrong?” I heard him ask me. Poor Sai. Poor clueless doesn’t-know-anything-about-the-world-around-him Sai.

I started to laugh. I’m not afraid to laugh like most of the girls out there who just giggle whenever they hear something funny. I’m not afraid to show my true emotions, unlike a certain pale friend of mine.

“You don’t tell a girl how you feel, words mean nothing in this world.” I said, still laughing. “You have to show her.” He looked a bit confused. “…show her?” He asked. I nodded. He sounded like he didn’t believe me. Not fair. I believe everything he tells me but he doesn’t believe me this one time? Jerk Sai. Mean doesn’t-even-believe-his-totally-awesome-best-friend Jerk.Well, he’s going to be receiving a very long silent treatment. And he probably won’t even know what’s going on. That will teach him!

“So I should show her how I feel right?” He asked…again. I nodded once…again. Man, this guy really is clueless. He really doesn’t understand anything does he? I smiled.

The wind blew and a few leaves were blown off the branches of the tree we were sitting underneath. For once, everything was quiet.

Quiet and still.

I felt lips press onto mine. How soft. A hand run up my arm and gradually make it’s way towards my neck while playing with strands of my hair on the way. I slowly melted into the arms until I realized what I was doing.

My eyes shot open and met the deep black eyes staring into mine. For once, it was me who didn’t know what was going on. Sai?

He pulled away, eyes still locked onto mine. Mine still lost in his. He was straddling my waist as he said “I’m sorry Taiyou…I jus---“ I grabbed his collar and pulled his body closer to mine. Our lips crashed into one another’s.

His lips were soft, I barely noticed they were there. I closed my eyes as he started to deepen the kiss. His warm hands worked their way up my arms once again and got lost in my hair as he started to play with strands of them.

How was he such a good kisser, yet he didn’t know about any other forms of social interaction? This time it was me who pulled away as I looked into his eyes.

His gorgeous black eyes.

“Hang on, Wait! What happened to Ino?” I asked. I was genuinely concerned since I knew she did really like him and he did her?

“I told you. I don’t like her. I like you. I thought I just showed you?” I laughed realized what he just meant.

“Well maybe I wasn’t clear. Yes, you should show a girl what you feel but I didn’t say you should just randomly kiss a girl without telling her that you like her. It would just earn you a slap across the face.” I said.

He smiled. A genuine one, not one of his fake smiles. It was the real deal, and it took my breath away. Sure, his fake ones where okay but his real ones made my heart skip a beat. He kissed me once again, but a shorter one.

“Taiyou, I like you.” He said, obviously trying to make it very clear.

“Better?” He asked, still smiling. I kissed him again and whispered into his ear.

“Much better.” And as we kissed I could feel a smile form across his face. For once, I was completely at peace, with Sai holding me in his arms.

Perfect.

Just perfect.
