Lance Sweets X Reader || Jessica The Intern

YOUR POV

"Morning Dr Sweets."  I said smiling at my boyfriend trying to act professional. We were dating but decided not to tell anyone at work, of course my brother, Jack Hodgins knew but that was different. He was my brother. I looked down at the bones that were on the table when a girl with red hair walked in. "I'm Jessica the new intern." I rolled my eyes walking away from the bones when Sweets stopped me pulling me into a near by office. "I know you liked Zack but you have to start giving these interns a chance." I rolled my eyes again and walked out going to grab some food. 

When I came back Sweets was in the bone room with Jessica. "Are you done with the skull?" I asked looking at her. "Yes actually." She said handing me it, as I went to grab it she let go letting it smash into pieces on the floor. "Opps?" I took a deep breath and bent down picking up all of the pieces. "Good thing I don't have to put it together." I said putting it all down onto the table. "That's the interns job." I said taking off my gloves and walking out.

I walked into Angelia's office with the skull when I heard her talking to someone, as Hodgins went to walk in I grabbed his shirt and put my finger to my lips. "Shh." I whispered listening to them talk. "Hey, a little word of advice, don't pass this one up." I frowned and looked in to see who she was speaking to. "One? Which one? What are you talking about?" That was sweets! I carried on listening. "Jessica. She likes you, and she's fun. You can use a little fun." I looked down at my feet. "I have fun okay? I don't, I'll think about it okay, but she's a little unpredictable." I shoved the tray with the skull on into Hodgins hands and ran off towards the break area. I sat on the sofa with my head in my hands taking deep breaths while letting silent tears fall down my check. 

"Hey." Hodgins said coming towards me and sitting down. I was sat at the edge with my legs dangling out of the bars looking out on the lab. "Hi." I said blankly just staring at the lab. "They're cute together." I said pointing at Sweets and Jessica stood together laughing. "Yeah but he's actually with you." He said handing me a cookie. "Yeah." I said biting into it. "But it's clear everyone wants them together." I said brushing off my fingers and standing up. "Tell Cam I'm not feeling great." I said excusing myself and leaving the lab.

"Where's Y/N? I need her to come and interview someone with me." Sweets said to Hodgins. "She's gone home, she's not feeling to great." Sweets nodded before leaving the room and going to find someone else to help him. 

"Hey Zack, it's Y/N, heard you were being realized today....erm..Call me when you can we need a catch up." Y/N said down the phone standing outside the Royal Diner.  "Call me I guess." She said pushing end call when she heard her name being called. "ZACK?!" She yelled seeing him run towards her. She ran towards him and wrapped her arms around him hugging him tightly not wanting to let go. "Oh my gosh Zack." She said pulling back and looking into his eyes. "This is real, this isn't fake right." She said not wanting the moment to end. "Of course it's real." He said hugging her again. "Now I want to know everything." He said taking his keys out of his pocket. "I've got a new place and I'm going to drop my stuff off, then we can go grab something to eat and chat."

Y/N waked over to Angelia's office with Zack by her side. "No ones changed you know, Jack still misses you even though he says he doesn't...I wont let anyone say king of the lab. You hold the title and no intern will EVER change that." Y/N said walking into the office and standing behind Sweets and Jessica. "You're in for a treat." Sweets whispered to Jessica. Y/N Gripped Zacks arm tightly. "You talking about you or the case." Y/N let go of Zack and walked out. She'd seen enough.

"Zack, I've just got to get my purse." Y/N said into her phone, unlocking her shared apartment door. She almost tripped over all of the things on the floor. "What the fuck?" She whispered before hearing giggling. "Zack...I'll be round in a little while." She whispered hanging up the phone and walking further towards her shared bedroom. "Fuck." She said seeing clothes everywhere, she didn't even cry she didn't want to show her weakness. She just pushed open the door and grabbed her handbag from the back of it. "Shit Y/N!" Sweets yelled covering himself. "Save it sweets, I honestly don't care" She said walking out and into the living room looking for her phone charger. "It's not what it looks like." Y/N scoffed throwing her charger into her bag and stepping over the broken table. "Really? Because to me looked like you were fucking the new intern. Because I walked in and you're still deep inside her." She said walking towards the front door when he grabbed her. "Don't blame me! You're the one who doesn't want to have sex yet!" She laughed throwing her hands in the air. "Yeah! Just blame it on the girl who's not good enough." She screamed opening the door. "Enjoy it Jessica! I don't give a fuck anymore!" She said almost crying. "Y/N I." She raised an eyebrow at Sweets. "You what? You're sorry? It'll never happen again. It's all bullshit." She said slamming the door and going to her car.

"I clearly meant nothing to him." Y/N said staring out of the window while rain poured down. "So he just slept with her and then told you it was your fault." Y/N downed the glass of wine she was drinking before joining Zack on the sofa. "Yep." She said popping the P. "Fucked it all up." She said placing down the glass. "You know you're the one who solved the case today." She shook her head. "Anyone could have seen that the person who Shot him would be deaf." Y/N said looking at Zack. He looked down at her lips and then back to her eyes. "Would it be a terrible thing to do if I kissed you." He said looking down at her lips. "No." She whispered closing the gap between them and kissed him. 

"Jessica this is Mr Addy." Brennan said as Zack joined them in the bone room. "He will be working with us." Y/N smiled and joined Zack's side. "Pleasure to meet you." Jessica said with a small smirk. "You too." He said looking down at the bones. "You know.." She said pushing Y/N out of the way. "I like a guy with brains." She said with a smile. "That's nice." He said picking up the skull and looking at it in detail. Y/N smirked into her clipboard and looked at the door way to see Jack and Sweets stood watching. Y/N hadn't seen Sweets in two weeks and he looked fine. "Maybe we can catch a drink after this." Zack sighed putting down the skull and walking over to Y/N. He grabbed her and pulled her close before kissing her deeply and dipping her. "Oh." Cam said walking into the room. "Zack?" Booth asked also walking in. They pulled apart and Y/N smiled brightly. "In case that wasn't clear, Jessica, I have a girlfriend. Who I love dearly and wouldn't throw that away for anything." Y/N blushed a crimson red before Jack joined her side. "It's a good thing I like you." He said hugging his sister.
