My POV

As I started the car and backed out of the parking lot I felt strange. I felt like I shouldn't leave just yet, or at all for that matter. It's late. I have to go home. I can't just stay at the school. It's bad enough that I have been gone all day. I cleared my head and turned on some music. I was driving down the road and stopped at an intersection. I waited for what seemed like an eternity for the light to change green. I was so concerned with getting home I didn't see the white pickup truck run the red light. Blackout.

I drifted in and out of consciousness. I heard sirens in the distance. All I could think about was staying alive, for Alex and my friends and my family. I saw someone get out of the truck. It was a tall skinny brunette, wobbling and giggling until she saw me. She started yelling at someone in the truck."YOU IDIOT, DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU'VE DONE!" She screamed. A few moments later an ambulance came and two paramedics jumped out. One ran to me and the other to the truck. The paramedic was trying to ask me something but I couldn't understand. He asked me again "Miss, what is your name?" "Luna Blue" I say before slipping into blackness again. When I woke again I was being pulled out of my car. I saw the people from the truck being put into a police car. They weren't hurt? I didn't feel any pain until I was fully out of the car and on a gurney. I screamed out in pain. "I want Alex!" I cried out in fear. At least if I'm going to die let him be here to tell me goodbye and so I can tell him I love him. I was lifted into the ambulance, they closed the doors and we were off. A paramedic asked me who Alex was and how to contact him. I tried with the last of my energy to tell him. I told him his first and last name and his phone number. Blackness. I awoke again to the paramedic talking to me."You have to try and stay awake, ok, stay with me" He said with a calm voice. When we arrived at the hospital I was rushed into an OR. The room was dark except for a light focused on me. I was able to see some of my wounds. I had glass in my arms and legs. I could feel something warm and sticky on my forehead. I reached up and was about to touch it when a nurse grabbed my hand. "Don't do that, it will make you feel worse" She said with calm and honest voice. She placed a triangular cup over my nose and mouth. "Count back from 100" She said. 100. 99. 98. 97. 96. 95. 94. 9-. I fell asleep.
