It Isn't Over...It Can't Be

Chapter Two ~ The Hospital

Alex's POV

I was sitting on the couch with a few of mine and Luna's friends. We were having a great time laughing and talking about everything. I noticed Luna hadn't come home yet. Probably still studying. She did that often. That's what I thought until I got phone call. It was a man named Leo Stevens. He asked me if I had someone there with me. I found it odd but told him that I was with some friends. The next thing he said broke my heart. "Luna Blue has been injured in a car wreck, she is surgery now and has asked for someone named Alex" He said in calm voice. "I-I-I'll be r-right there" I said on the verge of tears. Then he said goodbye and hung up. I looked over at our friends. "What's wrong Alex?" X asked. "Are you ok?" Emily asked. I-it's L-luna...she was in an accident" I state tears finally falling. "Is she ok!?!?" Natur asked with worry in her voice. "I d-don't know" I said as I grabbed my keys. "We're all coming with you!" X said. We ran to the car and got in. I started it and hurried out of the driveway. Luna has to be ok, she has to be. We arrived at the hospital five minutes later. I ran into the building and straight for the front desk. "Excuse me is Luna Blue here?" I said trying to calm down. " Yes, she went into surgery 20 minutes ago" The lady at the desk said. "We will let you know if anything happens" She said as I was walking away. "Ok, thanks" I say sitting down in a chair. X,Natur,and Emily sit next to me. I waited for an hour before falling asleep. Emily woke me up half an hour later and a doctor was standing in front of me. "I have good and bad news,which do you want to hear first?" He asked. "We could use some good news" I said. "Well, Luna is alive and you may see her" He said. "Now the bad news"He paused then continued. "Luna hit her head on something in her car and was in and out of consciousness on the way here. After surgery the anesthetic should have worn off and she should have woken up. Sadly, she didn't. She slipped into a coma." He said with a serious tone. We all stood there speechless. "The nurse will take you to see her now"He said and walked away. As we walked down the hallway I looked over at Emily. Poor Emily, her sister got into a wreck and is in a coma. I couldn't think of anything to say to her. We stopped at room 143. I smiled when I saw the room number, it stands for I love you. My smile faded as I looked at the bed. Lying there was a pale and motionless Luna. Her breathing was slow but there. I started to cry again. I sat in a chair next to the bed and held her hand. Why her? Out of all of the people in the world to wreck, why Luna? "I'm s-so s-s-sorry Luna" I whisper. "Please wake up soon" I said as I fell asleep.
