"Rose, you okay up there?" Christian shouted up the stairs. RoseAnn gripped the sides of her wooden dresser, dots dancing before her eyes rapidly.
"Yes!" She shouted as best she could. When the nausea finally dissipated, RoseAnn looked in her mirror. Something wasn't right. She always had visions sleeping, but never while she was awake, and there was something else. She had never known the mystery boys name until now.
"Honestly Rose, how long does it take to get ready for a nonformal dance?" Christian asked, appearing in RoseAnn's doorway. RoseAnn swallowed down her thoughts, not wanting Christian poking around.
"I'm almost done." RoseAnn replied to her twin dryly. Swiping the silver cross off her dresser, RoseAnn clipped it around her neck, letting it rest softly against her clothes. Her necklace matched Christian's silver ring, both gifts from their parents. She glanced at her brother, whose blue eyes glimmered with a bit of annoyance. Even though they were twins, RoseAnn looked nothing like her brother. Christian was tall with a head full of thick brown hair. Of course that wasn't what every girl mooned over him for. No, they loved his blue eyes. Who wouldn't? They were a shade of blue people had never seen before, the same color as their mothers. Her brother was also the star football player for their high school. He had incredible speed and no hit seemed to faze him. Then there was herself. RoseAnn was skinny and short with blonde hair the same shade as her mother's. She had her father's golden eyes which attracted some attention, but not the way her brothers did. RoseAnn wasn't on some sports team either. Apparently her grandma, Tess's mother, could swear RoseAnn was built for running. RoseAnn glanced at her legs, she couldn't see where her grandma got the idea. She wasn't a social butterfly like her brother, in fact, she was being forced to go to this dance.
"Raven's here!" Tess shouted from downstairs. RoseAnn watched Christian practically bolt down the stairs. She rolled her eyes, he would never learn. RoseAnn did one last look over in her mirror, debating on whether wearing shorts had been a good idea or not. Of course, if she wore jeans Raven would just haul her back upstairs to change. RoseAnn shut off her bedroom lights quickly and shuffled down the stairs. Raven's golden eyes sparked with happiness when she saw her friend and she rushed over to hug RoseAnn even though Christian was trying to talk to her. RoseAnn embraced her friend, trying to avoid a mouthful of black hair. RoseAnn had always wondered why her and Raven's eyes looked so alike, but Tess had just shrugged and said it must have been a coincidence. Whatever it was, RoseAnn was just glad to have Raven as a friend. Raven was a year older than her, but she acted younger than she really was. Raven went to a different school, but Christian begged her to come so that RoseAnn would actually come out of the house. RoseAnn glanced at her parents as they walked out of the kitchen to see everyone off.
"Be careful." Tess said softly to all of them. Raven smirked.
"Don't worry Mrs. Grey, they have me." Tess smiled. RoseAnn glanced at her father, Silas. He smiled warmly at her. His eyes were caramel pools just like hers.
"Let's go!" Christian shouted and opened the front door.
"See you later." Silas called out as RoseAnn was about to shut the door.
"I love you." He said to his daughter. RoseAnn nodded.
"Love you too, dad."
"Come on!" Raven shouted climbing into the back seat of Christian's car. RoseAnn quickly ran down the steps of her front porch, sliding into the passenger seat of the car. The car's wheels squealed as Christian raced out of the driveway. RoseAnn grabbed her armrest and Raven laughed. RoseAnn shot Christian a look, warning him to stop showing off. Christian ignored her of course, but did slow his speed a little. They lived about fifteen minutes away from Wolverine High School. The same school both her parents had went to. Not much had changed since her parents day, just maybe the kids were careless now than before. RoseAnn watched the minutes tick by agonizingly slow while they approached the school. She did not want to go to this dance, but Tess had insisted she get out of the house. Adding to all of this was the fact that this dance was the last one before graduation which was in two weeks. RoseAnn brushed some of her hair back thoughtfully, her mind wandering back to the vision she had earlier. They had been coming for months now and closer together. They had slid into her dreams three nights in a row before her daytime vision today. RoseAnn still didn't understand them and as long as she had no clue what was going on, she would tell no one about them. A thought bloomed in her mind.
