RoseAnn would have loved to focus on the preacher's sermon, but it wasn't possible. The vision from yesterday combined with what Tess and her grandmother had said, haunted all of her thoughts. Like a weight pressing down on her. RoseAnn glanced at her parents and ignored the anger that threatened to bubble over each time she thought of the lies they told. For all RoseAnn knew she could be some type of cyborg. She was part of some race that happened to have golden eyes, but was not that race at the same time. RoseAnn glanced at her father and narrowed her eyes. They had the same golden shimmer as hers, so did Raven's. Sighing, RoseAnn shifted in her pew. This meant Raven was lying to her too. Were they part of this race or were they like her, and why would they hide this from her?

"I won't lie to you." Kaiden's words from the vision popped into RoseAnn's mind. Kaiden wasn't normal either. RoseAnn frowned, wondering if she was surrounded by lies no matter where she turned. Well Christian hadn't lied to her, at least not yet. He had been quiet most of the morning and she wondered if he was just as confused as she was. He had to be. RoseAnn was roused from her thoughts as the worship team began to lead the last song before the service ended. She sang the song as she always did, but she wasn't focused on it like most of the time.

"You'd think the weather would at least be nice enough to be warm today." Christian said as he poked his food around it's plate. RoseAnn had to agree with him, it was pretty gross out. The wind was blowing a little and it was only forty degrees out. After they had gotten home from church, RoseAnn hung out in her room all day until now. Tess had prepared a quick supper and soon Christian would be leaving for football practice. RoseAnn looked around the table.

"I uh-" She cleared her throat as he voice came out roughly, "figured I would ride along with Christian to practice." Christian looked at her like she was insane.

"Why would you want to do that?" He asked in an almost annoyed voice. RoseAnn looked at him and shrugged.

"I don't know. I just wanted to get out for a little bit. Spend some time with my brother on the ride there." RoseAnn hoped he got her hidden message in that. Christian narrowed his eyes and looked at Tess and Silas.

"You guys put her up to this?" He asked. Tess and Silas both shook their heads, Tess smiling a little. Christian forked a piece of meat.

"I guess you can come, there won't be much to do when we start practice." RoseAnn nodded.

"I'll manage." RoseAnn polished off the rest of her food and went upstairs to grab a sweater. She was shrugging it on as Christian loaded his football gear into the car. RoseAnn hopped in the passenger seat and waited for him to get in. It didn't take long for him to start the conversation.

"So what do you want to talk about? I'm assuming that's the only reason you want to come." He said, glancing at her. RoseAnn told him about what she heard from Tess combining it with some of her speculations. Christian listened silently. When she was done, he frowned.

"Who is 'he' exactly?" He asked absentmindedly. referring to Akbar.

"I don't know, but 'he' doesn't sound like anyone good." RoseAnn said beside him. Christian was silent again before he straightened.

"You know, my headaches started out small in the beginning, but everyday they kind of get worse and worse, just like mom's. I wonder if I'm tied to this 'he' somehow." Christian exhaled, irritated.

"What are they hiding from us?" He glanced at RoseAnn. She shrugged, wishing she had an answer.

"I had another vision too." RoseAnn said quietly. Christian turned and looked at her briefly.

"Anything helpful in it?" RoseAnn wasn't sure what to tell him.

"No, not really." She said smoothly. Christian pulled into the school parking lot and put the car brake on.

"Whatever's going on, I don't like it." He said before opening his car door. RoseAnn got out, immediately greeted by the cold air. Who would have thought she'd be wearing jeans today when she wore shorts Friday. Christian went to the locker room to change while RoseAnn climbed the bleachers with a blanket from the car. She wasn't about to freeze her behind off on the cold bleachers, especially since the temperature was continuing to drop. RoseAnn watched everyone take the field, grudgingly remembering Josh was on the football team. He looked at her for a minute before putting on his helmet. As the practice wore on, the sun began setting and RoseAnn's fingers grew numb. She pushed them under the blanket that covered her lap, trying to warm them. Hearing a creak, she froze as she saw Kaiden making his way over to her. Why hadn't she seen him coming up the bleachers earlier? He had on a jacket and carried two McDonald's cups in his hands. RoseAnn watched as he stopped beside her and extended one cup. She looked at it wearily before taking it. Warmth from the cup spread through her numb fingers. Kaiden sat down beside her and looked at the field, propping an elbow on his knee that was perched on the seat in front of them.
