Preliminary (Part One)

"Master Hokage, please allow me, Hayate Gekko, who was given the task of judge, to speak first." Hayate spoke.

"I leave it to you..." Lord Third spoke.

"Nice to meet you everyone..." He spoke...still not facing us. "Umm, there's something...I'd like you all to do...-cough- before the third test. -cough- and that is a preliminary to the third test, with participation in the main battle on the line." He stated.

"Preliminary?" I heard Sakura ask.

"What do you mean...preliminary?" Shikamaru yelled.

"Sensei I don't understand the point of the preliminary. Why aren't we doing the next test with the remaining test-takers?" Sakura said.

"This time around, perhaps because the first and second test were too easy, there are a few too many people left, you see. In accordance with the rules of the chunin exam, a preliminary will be held in order to reduce the number advancing." Hayate spoke.

"N-No way!" Sakura said.

"As Lord Hokage said before, many guests will be coming to the third test. So we can't have long pointless matches and our time is limited as well. Therefore, those of you not in top physical condition...-coughing- Excuse me. Those of you who wish to drop out, please speak up now. The preliminary will begin immediately, so..." Hayate spoke once more.

'Well, this is not a lot of rest time. And you and Sasuke are being affected by the marks. For some reason your mark and Sasuke's are different. Almost like he knew what you were going to do, and planed for it Kit...'

'I agree, but why gives us different marks. What does his do that makes his different than mine, what does mine even do. Make me weak, give me more fear of losing control and harming my comrades..or worse.'

'Kit, you would never harm them. Any of them, no matter what.'

'But I don't remember anything from when I lost control. Only destruction and the thirst for bloodshed'

'Kit, that was not you. That was my fault, I pushed out and caused that. Not you.'

'But I let you out, I got lost in anger and fear and sadness. I lashed out. I fed you my anger, I made you kill him.'

'Kit, you had reasons to feel that way. He killed your mother and little brother, in front of you. He went after you, tried to kill you. If I didn't take control, if I didn't make you lose control he would have killed you. You don't have to be in pain, or guilt. You did nothing wrong kit.'

'B-But he was....my f-father, and he is dead because of me. My mother and brother are dead because of me. She tried to protect me, and got killed for it.'

'Kit, she loved you. They both did, that man...if you can call him that hurt them, hurt you. Don't blame yourself for that.'

I was brought out of my 'thoughts' when I felt a pain from the curse mark. My ears twitched when I heard Kakashi speak.

"They're not the kind of type to just obey like that...?! After all, they're of the Uchiha clan." He spoke.

"What are you talking nonsense for?! I'll make them stop, by force if needed! The curse mark responds even when one's just building up chakra and forcibly remove their strength! It's a prohibited jutsu that eats into the body of the one who uses a jutsu! It's a wonder that the two are even enduring it. They should really already be dead, and the girl has not let it seem as though she even has a mark. She shows no pain on that emotionless face of hers. Lord Hokage!" Anko spoke. I look over to Sasuke and saw him holding where the mark is.
