Stephanie's POV
I got home and Michael was getting lectured. He sat on the couch with a puppy face while dad paced and argued with himself that I'm just like mom.
"Um I'd hate to interrupt but if you hate me so much, why'd you want me here? You're the one who took my brother and ran Mike not me! I think I should go live with my brother and Dad in Minnesota for awhile. Just until you can learn to accept that you are just as bad of a parent as mom." I said. They both looked at me in shock and I ran upstairs to pack. I started to write Michael a note once I had finished and decided to not leave but have Dad think I did.
I went skated around trying to find a hotel. When I found one I checked in using my moms credit card. Do I feel guilty for stealing it? No. She took my college fund and spent it on a new wardrobe for her and Cole so I mean who can blame me?
I put my stuff down and checked my phone. 26 missed calls, 278 new texts. All from my Dad, Mom, Michael, Mike, and.... Calum?
I decided to call Calum back first. How I have his number I've got no clue but I figured I might as well try here.
The phone conversation:
Calum: STEPHANIE?!
Steph: That's my name!
Calum: Where are you?!
Steph: I can't say because you'll tell Michael and Mike
Calum: I swear I won't! Please tell me! I'm terrified! I thought you had left me behind!
Steph: Oh. Um I'm at that hotel near the grocery store. Just um come here I guess.
Calum: Is it OK if Luke comes too?
Steph: Who?
Calum: My friend.
Steph: Yeah fine whatever.
Calum: See ya in a sec.
Steph: OK bye.
Calum: See ya babe.
*end phone conversation*
BABE?!?!?!
Michael's POV
Dad was mad. Wait mad is an understatement, this guy is going to kill Steph. I went up to my room and closed and locked the door behind me. My dad is not someone you want to get mad. The window is open indicating that Steph had left that way. There was a note on my TV. The front read, "DO NOT READ IF YOUR DAD IS IN THE ROOM!"
I felt slightly upset at that. Oh great. She writes in cursive.
The note:
Dear brother,
See how formal I can be? I'm so sorry I had to leave like this. I'll miss you endlessly. Just to let you know the reason why Dad can't see this is because I'm going to tell you this, I'm not leaving town. You obviously need me around.
Michael this isn't your fault. I know you're thinking that because I would. Dad keeps treating me horribly and I don't think its fair. I'll find a hotel and contact you when I'm ready. Calm down Michael. Trust me.
Much Love,
Stephanie Ikes
P.S. If I can't handle being here I'll leave.
I can't believe it. She's staying because of me. I don't see why Dad can't just back off. I called Calum to see if he possibly knew anything.
When he picked up I heard a girls laughter in the background. OK?
"Hey bro what's up?" Calum asked obviously trying not to laugh.
"Have you seen Steph?" I asked. Silence. The girl in the background had shut up. Calum was absolutely silent.
"I don't know." Wait what?!
"Calum! How can you not know?! What does that even mean?!"
"GOTTA GO MIKE"
He hung up. Okay?
I decided to go to the record store to calm me down.
When I got there I was instantly hit by a tall, tan figure, literally.
"OH MY GOSH I'M SO SORRY!" She said warm brown eyes looking straight into my green orbs. I couldn't speak. I was completely speechless.
She had those warm brown eyes that melted my soul. Her light brown hair was stricken with deep purple highlights. She wasn't tall ,but she wasn't short. More of a perfect height.
"Um? Excuse me? Did I really hit you that hard?" She asked. An american accent? She just gets better and better.
"Oh uh I'm uh s-sorry." Smooth Michael smooth.
"I'm Roxy by the way!" She said sticking her hand out to help me up.
"That is a really cool name!" I said accepting her hand.
"Thanks! Punk parents ya know?" She said with a giggle.
"Oh trust me I know." I said.
"So what can I help you with?" She asked smiling. She works in a record store too? OK that's it! I need to marry her!
"You can help me by going on a date with me." I said with a wink at the end.
"I don't even know your name buddy boy!" She said walking off. I walked behind her.
"My names Michael. You can call me your date for Friday night." I said and she turned around blushing.
"What makes you think I want to go on a date with you?" She asked and I pang hit my heart.
"So you don't want to go on a date with me?"
"Never said that."
"So you do?"
"Depends. Where would we go?"
Crap.
"You can choose."
"How about the movies and then dinner?"
"Sounds great!" She grabbed my arm and wrote her name and number.
"Call me later your date for Friday night." She said with a wink.
I walked of the shop and did a little happy dance.
I'VE GOT A DATE! I'VE GOT A DATE!
WAIT! I FORGOT ABOUT STEPHANIE!
