"Jayce,honey. Dinner is ready."
"Coming Laur!", Jayce slurred.
"Hey,are you drunk? You don't look so good."
  "Leave it alone!", Jayce demanded.
  "Jay,are you okay?"
Lauren's charming, loving, and kind husband then punched her. Lauren was in shock. What the hell just happened?
"I SAID LEAVE.IT.ALONE!"
Frightened and at a loss of words Lauren held back her tears and nodded. This was the first time he hurt her. But definitely not the last.
A year and a half later it still happens. Lauren is a human punching bag. And no one seems to care. Why would they? In her eyes, she deserves every second of it. She is an ugly, grotesque, idiotic mongrel that the world is stuck with. In her mind, Jayce is in the right to hurt her. She deserves it. It's her punishment.
All of her life Lauren has wanted children. She wanted to raise tiny little wonderful people. Her dreams were to have respectful, kind hearted, and happy children. But,her dream slipped away. She is terrified to bring children into a world with Jayce as a their father. They don't deserve that. Not like she does. Nobody deserves it like she does.
That night Lauren locked herself in the bathroom and cried. Her eye had already began to swell. It stung. What hurt her the most was that she was concerned about Jayce. She wondered what happened and if he was okay.  Most of all she thought about all of the memories the two had shared. Amazingly beautiful memories. Like when they met at a bar. Or their wedding day in Hawaii. The couple had amazing history. That was the problem. Lauren wasn't sure if they would ever get it back. Jayce closed a line. But,still Lauren could only think of his smile. That is the problem with memories. They ruin you.
