----------------------------------------------Normal. I am just a normal 17 year old girl. I listen to normal music, and I wear normal clothes... Well more like hoodies and leggings, but to me that's normal. Right now, I'm moving to my dads for a bit, while my mom is busy with her company. I'm driving all the way from Texas and I'm taking a 15 hour ride to Minnesota, and I've only been on the road for 5 hours and it already seems like hell. I'm kinda nervous about starting school up again, especially since I've never been to Minnesota and I don't know how or what is going to happen. I'm really a loner, I mean having a friend or two is ok, but I'm really awkward and shy.
Few hours later...
Ok so, it's pitch black and I'm almost at my dads, only about 30 minutes left. I'm excited to see him, I haven't seen him in awhile, so I wonder how he's doing.
Just as I was thinking about him, my car slowly starts to stop and starts to make really weird sounds. Great. My car broke down, it's 11pm at night and there's no stores or people around. I give out a big sigh and hop out my car. I see steam coming out from the car, as I open the front up. I hop back in my car, and call my dad. No answer. I call again, no answer. Great. What now? I don't know shit, about cars. Maybe I can wait until a car passes by...? I slowly feel my eyelids press down on my eyes. I felt my body slowly go numb. And everything was quite and peaceful.
*Knock, Knock, Knock.* I wake up to the sound of bangs at my car window. I shot up like a rocket and froze. Outside my window was an old man, who looked 100 years old. I slowly roll down my window.
"Yes, Sir?" I said with a straight voice.
"Yea, I see that your car has broke down, would you like some jumper cables?" The old man asked with a questionable look.
"Umm, Sure Thanks?" I said kinda worried.
The old man had road his old car down the street and had hooked up the jumper cables to his and my car. I was thankful for his help but at the same time I wasn't sure what to do. I hop in my car and slowly turn my car on. I pray to God that it works. And as I finish that thought, my car starts up.
Yessss! Thank god. The old man disconnects the jumper cables and waves me goodbye. As I was driving the sun light was slowly rising and it had now been a new day, and one day closer to my new school and life.
I pull into my dads ruined apartment building, looking at the messy bricks that made the apartment. I park my car, and grab a few of my things. I remember that my dads apartment number was lucky number 13, and it was on the second floor. I slowly and carefully walk up the stairs trying, my hardest not to fall.
I make it to his apartment door and knock a few times. No answer. I set my things down, and pull out my phone from my pocket. I dial his number. No answer.Just then, a tall emo looking guy slams his apartment door shut and runs off. Then some girl runs off after him. I'm curious about what just happened. I shake my head. Think. Where is dad. I pick my things back up, and make my to the apartment office.
I walk into the office and a woman who looks too fancy to be in this ruined apartment building.
"Hello Dear." She said with a wave.
"Hi, Yes, umm, I'm Eve April, and my father is Rob April, in apartment 13, and he's not there or picking up his phone, so I wondering if you had a spare key? I asked as sweetly as I could."Oh, of course! Here sugar, take this spare key and keep it!" The nice woman hands me a small sliver key.
"Thank you." I say while waving and walking out. I run up back up the stairs, out of breath and open up the door. I walk in. It's all dark and dusty.
There's a note on the dusty table. I drop my stuff and walk over and pick it up. "If your reading this than, I'm already fledgling the country. My dets are too much and det collectors are chasing after me. Sorry Eve. I wish I was there to help you. Have a good life baby girl, Dad."
I let out a big sigh. I should have known. That man and placing bets. Well, I can't be sad over it. I have this whole place to myself.
But.It needs a lot of cleaning... Great. I walk around the place. The kitchen and living room are next to each other, than there's a master bedroom and a guess room that both connect to a bathroom in the middle. I mean it's not the best place ever, but I can deal with that.
I walk over to my stuff and pile it all on the couch. In the living room, there's a tiny green couch and a little red tv on a tv stand. *Achoo* Great. This dust. Needs to go. I have a stupid idea. I walk over to my big red bag with my clothes in it, and grab one of my old sleep shirt. I wrap it around my hand, and I start to wipe everything down. Surprisingly its works pretty ok.
Few hours later...
I've been cleaning all day long, I dusted everything down, I've picked up left over beer bottles, and I've wiped down the kitchen floor. I walk over to the tv and turn it on, than I sat on the still kinda dirty couch. Just as I sit down, I get a knock on the door. I slowly stand up, kinda sore from cleaning, and I peek through the peek hole. The woman from earlier? Who was chasing after that guy? I slowly open up the door. I opened my mouth to say yes, but she completely cut me off.
"Ye-""Is Rob April here?!" She yelled.
"He doesn't live here anymore." I said with a straight face.
"What...?" She said questionable.
"He.Doesn't. Live. Here." I said very slowly.
"I swear to god, when I find him... He's gonna pay!" She yelled.
"Good luck with that, he left the country." I said with kinda a smirk.
The woman didn't say anything, she just walked away.I slowly close the door. What the hell was that?! I look over at the clock, 10pm. I give out a little yawn. I think it's bedtime... I walk over to my bag.
Open it up, and grab out an old hello-kitty shirt that I've literally have had forever. And I trow on some shorts. I grab my really soft blue blanket and a pillow.I walk into the master bedroom. I really didn't clean much in here, I need to wash the sheets and blankets tomorrow. I lay down the blanket and put my pillow down and rap myself like a toco.As I'm falling asleep I slowly realize how much the pass two days were such a pain. My car broke down. My dad has fled the country. And I'm now living in a town I've never been in. Great. Well I'll just learn to live by myself.
