I walked across the dark misty beach to find the murderer holding the ice cream. I snuck up behind him and snatched it out of his hands and ran for my life with the sand brushing against my bare feet. I stopped behind a tall sand dune to rest, but then I heard a young boys voice. "Phoebe. Phoebe.... PHOEBE!" My eyes sprang open to see my bedroom and Isaac leaning over me. "Isaac, I was just having an interesting dream about a murderer stealing an ice cream off me." I groaned. "Good to know, Mum wants you to go downstairs." He peeled the blankets off me as the cold morning air whisked past me. It was a Saturday morning and I should be sleeping in, but when I looked at the clock on my wall I was disappointed to find it was 7:37 am.  I slowly wobbled my tired body down the stairs and went into the kitchen expecting to find mum there, but she wasn't. "Phoebe, I'm over here." Mum's shaky voice spoke from behind me. I turned around to see Mum on the couch, her eyes were teary and she was holding a sopping wet hanky, one of dad's special blue hankies. She was holding her phone too. "I've just had a call from Nick's mother" She pulled a straight face. Mum was crying and she had just gotten a call from Nick's mum, this means bad. Butterflies pounded my chest as I found myself to tear up as I was pretty certain on what was coming. "He's in hospital, but he's okay. These are tears of joy and relief." A grin widened across her face as she did a big sniff. "N-n-no w-way! Thank you lord!" I screamed smiling. "We are going to visit him in the hospital today.... But there is one small problem." Mum said more seriously. I looked at her worryingly. "He isn't awake. He is asleep, he has been unconscious for three days straight. The doctors are certain he is going to wake up soon." She scowled. "Oh-o-okay then." I was quiet confused. How can the doctors be sure he'll wake up? Back to worrying again.

After breakfast I put my sling on my broken arm and grabbed my phone and me and Mum got in the car and it was about an hour drive to Twin peaks hospital. When we got up to the waiting room on the 10th floor Shanite and Caleb were sitting there too next to their mothers. Soon after Myles arrived with his Mum. We sat there for nearly and hour on our phones, our mums reading magazines. Nick's mum popped her head around the doorway to the waiting room. "Hi guys" She said softly. We all looked up at her, she looked really tired. "Nick has waken up" She pulled a smile saying it like it's not to much of a big deal. I gasped and lifted off my seat hoping we could go in to see him. "Follow me" Nick's Mum told all of us. Once she had lead us into his small hospital room we all rushed in there. I couldn't help but give Nick a giant hug, it was a little hard to hug since I was wearing my sling. We also did our friendship handshake, he did it like he does it on a normal school day when we meet up at lunch. Nick's family also crowded around his small bed, making it really cramped in the room. After all the conversation slowly ended, Nick then sat up and tried to stand up from his bed. "It's time to go home" He grinned excitedly. "Well we still don't know if anything's happened to you" A doctor said from the corner of the room. "But there might not be anything wrong with me though" Nick's happiness drained as he sat back down on his bed. His Dad stood up in front of the doctor."You stupid hospital, your unreliable, give my son back!" He raved. I'm sure Nick's Dad was very tired and mad and just wanted his son back home. The doctor pushed Nick's dad away with a viscous face, I was now mad. I wanted Nick home. "Yeah give my best friend back!" I pointed at the doctor angrily. The doctor stood back and put his hands up like he was about to be arrested by a police and he wanted to act all innocent. "B-but" The doctor frowned.

1o minutes later

Some nurses came in and tried to calm us all down. "You can leave but I'd love to experi-help you some time" One said as we all piled our way down the corridor toward the elevators. Nick's parents signed him out of the hospital at the front desk on floor 1. We said bye to Nick and his parents. Myles came up to me in the parking lot to have a chat. "Shanita and Caleb just left. My Mum is talking to Nick's Mum. What are you doing today?" He asked. "Nothing" I replied. "Wanna come over to my house.... If you want. For like an hour." He asked looking down at his feet and blushing. "Umm... Sure thing. I'll just go ask my Mum" I turned around and went to Mum. She said yes. I walked back over to Myles. I felt excited for this afternoon, I would like to spend it with Nick since I haven't seen him in days, but I'm sure he needs urgent rest at home. The car drive back to Myles house was completely awkward. Me and Myles just sat in the back seat looking out our windows, it was silent apart from the radio. Myles Mum was very nice. She was also very pretty. If I had to describe her appearance I would say: Long silky black hair with dark brown eyes, like Myles' eyes. She has lovely tanned/olive skin. She was a little bit short and chubby, where as Myles is tall and skinny. I remembered Myles telling me his Mum is from Samoa and his Dad was born in this country, America. Myles Mum's car smelt strongly of perfume. It was an old car with a big dent of the back left door. The inside of the car was messy too. It was a seven seated car, it had car seats and kids toys everywhere. I then remembered that Myles has 3 siblings. He has an older sister who is called Teulia [Tay-Wee-La], her name is Samoan. She is 15. He has a younger brother who is 8, his name is Max. He also has a 3 year old brother too, his name is Chase.
