I believe in magic
I believe in fools
For battlers I will rise
And fight with any tools
But words are all I have now
In my twilight years
To strike the mongrel down
For our blood, sweat and tears
Pen in hand I've wandered
Through life with all its bends
The plainest truth I've found?
Only laughter truly mends!
So hail my worthy victims
Whom I've 'sent up' for the cause
If we find the cure for Cancer
Then the victory will be yours!

This is a little collection of biker rhymes put together in 2004. In aid of creating awareness of cancer research fundraising I was engaged in at the time. As an RN working in the Queensland Cancer clinic. Every little bit helped!
My thanks to Ullysses and Southern Cross motorcycle club members who agreed to their character assassinations in print. My apologies to various others who didn't get asked but who were divined as 'fair game' no itchy pen could pass up!
I hold my Townsville Cancer Clinic colleagues, Radiation Oncology NUM Rosa Schiappadori and Oncology Services Director Doctor Will Cairns, wholly responsible for any repercussions as they gave me permission to print! (That includes re-print on the WW web a decade later, don't it? Ah, well...so sack me!)
My special thanks goes to Tania Bennett, my "Elf" and nursing colleague in the Clinic, who did the typesetting and drives my 'support vehicle' in case I fall off my bike again.
Dedication
To Dad, who died of Bowel Cancer.
Douglas Paul Bach was an incomparable human being. A bush man, my 'Fiddler on the Roof' who taught me never ever to give up.
"Don't worry Pa, it ain't over yet!"
