"Mitch, are you asleep?" Mike whispered into the pitch black room, our bodies tangled together below the covers, my legs between and around his, his arms locked under mine, his hands holding my head to his chest, as my arms were held around his back and to his chest, my hands tangled in his hair.
"no im not." i mumbled into his shirtless chest, my lips gently grazing the skin as i spoke.
he slightly giggled, his chest moving as he did so, his breaths moving my head up and down slightly.
"can we talk?" he asked, moving his body to where we were both on our backs, he adjusted the covers up around us and intertwined our fingers.
"hey mitch, did you mean what you said earlier?" he asked quietly, using his thumb to stroak the side of my hand slowly.
"which part, we both said alot." i sighed, thinkin back to the fight a few hours earlier.
"when you waid you loved me...because if you were just saying it to get me to apologize..it worked." he sighed.
"of course i ment that Mike, i wouldnt do that just to get you to say somwthing to me." i spoke sternly, furrowing my eyebrows.
"becasue i didn't mean anything that I said...i'd never call you any of those names and mean it...i promise." he said, holding up his other hand, his pinky finger extended.
i locked my pinky with his and smiled as we both moved moved our hands back down to our sides.
we sat there in silence for a few more moments before Mike moved my body right up against his, moving my body up to where our head were level, pressing our foreheads together.
"Hey Mitch can i tell you something?" he asked quietly, locking his fingers a the small of my back.
"anything." i whispered, snaking my arms around his neck, locking my fingers and dropping my elbows to be almost level with his shoulders.
"I love you, not like a friend, like i want to wake up to you every morning like this; body to body, our legs tangled together. i want us to be like bestfriends, but at the end of the night we go to bed knowing that i need you more than anything. Michelle Kores-Daniels I love you more than I love myself sometimes." He spoke to me.
a few tears slipped down my cheeks, but this time they were from an overwhelming wave of emotions from Mike's words. not from sadness.
I quickly pressed our lips toghether and leaned back to stare into his deep brown eyes.
"Michelle. i want you to be my girlfriend, will you please?" he asked as he pulled us chest to chest.
"of course Mike." i said through a few sharp breaths, the tears coming to a stop as he pressed his lips to my cheeks, collecting the tears that had been there with his lips.
"I love you mitch." he whispered against my skin as he kissed my forehead and pushed one of his legs between mine, letting me rest my head back against his chest. our bodies tangled back together in blissful silence.
