My legs seemed like they were jam on the spot, running my fingers through my hair I wanted to erase all the memory of the owner of the car.

My step mother.

Why was she here?
Wasn't she suppose to be somewhere else? that's thousands mile away from me.

Chill ran down my spine as the words she used to call me revolved around my head.

The grip of my hands tightened and in no time I was pulling my hair.

Nothing made sense, should I enter the house?

Maybe she's waiting for me to-

I should go to Lilly's house, she would definitely not have a problem.

But.

Tomorrow is school and I need to complete my Maths homework.
And I can't hide for long, I had to go to my house and face her.

The only noise that I could hear was the click of my heels as I made my way towards my house.

Reaching the door, I rubbed my hands on the leggings trying to get rid of the moisture on my hands.

Should I knock?

I had the keys too, I should open the by myself and she wouldn't get to know that way.

But before I could do anything the door opened. And there stood the woman I despised more than anything, my step mom.

"Welcome Miss Myra."She said, her voice filled venom.

My back straightened as the voice entered my ears, The voice I loathed.

Her big round eyes  and button nose made her look like an angel but she was quite an opposite, she was nothing like those bad people in television whom you could identify just by looking at them, maybe that was a reason why I thought she could replace my mother.

Now looking at her I realise how much wrong I was,  "Lost in your dream land again" Lauren (my step mom) said, clicking her fingers.

My fingers curled against my sides, I wanted to speak and tell her to get lost, away from me and my house, but a knot formed in my throat restricting me from speaking.

Without uttering a single word I slipped inside the house cause I knew this would end up in a disaster and the best thing would be a silent treatment.

"Where do you think you are going you scum bag!" She shouted as I climbed up the stairs to my room.

One thing I knew was she would never dare to enter my room, it was my safe haven.

A loud sound pierced my ears, and I knew that this night wouldn't end well.
