Niall's POV

"James!" I shouted for my brother as I slammed the dorm door.

"What now?" He came out of his bedroom and I darted towards him, knocking him down to the floor.

"Why the fuck did you tell Addison to stay away from me?" I shouted, pinning his arms down as if he was an opponent in the ring, which he pretty much is right now.

"Niall, don't pretend like you don't know." He grunted underneath me, trying to flip us over.

"Don't even fucking try. Don't give me the shit about how it's not safe for her to be with me. I know it's not but I can protect her."

"Protect her for how long? You won't be able to hide a girl from Tyler and the fighting forever. You know you can't." He fought till he know led me off him and we both stood.

"However long it fucking takes. I'll make sure she stays out of that part of my life. I don't need you to control my life. Addison's different." My tone was angrier but I bought the shouting down.

"You know what, you're right. You can handle this by yourself. But if and when she gets caught up in our world, don't come begging for me to help because I won't. Don't get me involved either." He freed his hands from my grip and shoved me to the ground, standing up.

"In case you haven't noticed, I don't need your help , so I think I'll be okay." I stood and left to my bedroom, slamming the door behind him and flopping on my bed.

Who the hell does he think he is? Deciding what's right and wrong for me?

I sighed and flipped over onto my back, sighing deeply.

"Okay, Niall. You can do this. You can keep her out of that part of your life. She's different than the other girls. You actually care about her." Something inside my mind spoke and I closed my eyes.

"Keep her safe? Challenge accepted." I whispered to myself.

*

"Addison?" I knocked on the door to her dorm softly.

"Hello?" Amelia opened the door, starting up at me in confusion.

"Is Addison here?"

"Yeah, she is." She stayed put at the door, not moving out of my way.

"Great, can I talk to her?" I tried to squeeze past her but Amelia blocked my way.

"You're not allowed to step foot into our dorm, so I guess you can't talk to her." She smiled up at me and I was seriously thinking twice about my policy to hit women, just this once.

"Well, what if she wants to talk to me? Will you get her?" I rolled my eyes, "Please."

"Oh, is that a please?" She raised both her brows. "I'll ask but you're staying out here."

And with that, she closed the door.

Within seconds, Addison reopened the door.

"Hey." She awkwardly closed the door behind her, leaving us in the hallway and Amelia inside.

Something inside me took over and before I knew it, I was grabbing her waist and pulling her in for a kiss.

I pulled away once I realized what I had done.

"I'm sorry.." I managed to say as she stared at me in shock.

"No, it's okay. Look Ni-"

"Wait, let me talk. Please?" I stopped her. I didn't want to start an argument, I just wanted to talk.

She nodded softly, fiddling with her pajama shirt.

"I know James told you to stay away from me, but you can't listen to him. I already..uh..spoke to him and we cleared things up. I know you've heard rumors about me as well, something along the lines of me not taking relationships seriously? Ditching girls for new ones here and there? That's the way I used to be. Before I met you. Addison, I don't know what it is about you but something about you is different. And I want to be with you. In a serious relationship, not as if you're just a toy."  I sighed after I finished.

"I didn't really believe the rumors anyway." She finally smiled.

"Well I did for a moment when you started talking to that blonde chick in Professor Davis' class." She added

"So does that mean you'll give me a chance? Forget the rumors?" I asked, awaiting a reply.

"Mhmm." She nodded and I pulled her in for another kiss, a strange feeling traveled through my body. It was a new feeling and I liked it.

"Great, now do you think we can get your dorm-mate to not hate me?" I laughed.

"One step at a time, Niall. One step at a time." She laughed.

"Fair enough. Can I take you out for lunch?" I bit my lip softly, waiting for a response.

"I wouldn't pass up that opportunity. I have to get ready and what not, I'll call you when I finish?"

I nodded.

"Awesome." She stood on her tip toes and pecked my lips softly.

"Bye, Niall."

I waited till she was inside her dorm and the door was closed to walk away.

Addison IS different and I'm going to prove everyone wrong, putting all these bullshit rumors to rest.

I smiled, happy with myself as I walked back to my dorm.
