Fine: A word that should not exist in the English language.
The word "fine" has a multitude of definitions.
When texting or emailing, you can't hear your friend's voice.
Are they truly fine? The whole story changes face-to-face.
Your friend's tone,
their facial expressions,
their body language...
Which type of "fine" is this friend?Fine: A word I despise with all my heart.
Even though they wear a smile on their face,
saying, "Fine," is a cover up.
It hides one's true emotions.
It's a way of testing friendship."Can you tell I'm hurting even though I say I'm fine?"
"Can you tell that I want to talk about it,
but I don't want to bother you unless you actually care?""Don't take my fine seriously.
Please ask me what's wrong."Fine: A word that's full of lies.
As one tries to convince themselves,
smiling is all they need to ease worry.
If they happen to be convincing enough,
everyone will really believe they're truly okay,
when in reality, they're not.
It's so rare for someone to keep asking,
"Are you sure? Because I know you aren't fine.'""Don't worry about me. I'm fine."
Maybe everyone gets tired of asking.
People worry so much.
They can see things others struggle seeing.
But people can also give up.
So if you really want to know,
Yes, I am fine.
And the worst part is.."Fine" is the exact word that led to my death.
