Leilani’s POV:

For the rest of the day I just stayed in my room and stared at the wall. I didn’t even eat nor did I want to. My phone kept buzzing but, every time, I ignored it.

Even though the sun was still up, I was exhausted physically, mentally, and emotionally. Just as I was about to fall asleep, I heard the door open. I pretended to be asleep and listen to the voices of my roommates as they came inside of our room.

After they came to the conclusion that I was asleep, they left to go hang out with Ian and Nolan.

I was glad when they left, however. I wanted to be alone.

-

When I woke up the room was completely dark besides the moon that was shining in through the window.

I sat up and reached for my phone. Once I saw that it was two in the morning, I noticed that I had eleven missed calls and eighteen new text messages. I sighed and decided to actually check who they were from.

Three of the eleven calls were from Thalia, one was from Auburn, one was from Jerr, one was from Adrienne, and five were from Dana.

Five of the eighteen texts were from Thalia, one was from Auburn, one was from Adrienne, and eleven were from Dana.

The text from Adrienne was from this afternoon saying that they left when they came back to the room because I was asleep, the text from Auburn was asking me if I liked Saint Lawrence and telling me to call her, and the texts from Thalia asked me about our Skype date and what happened.

I texted back Auburn first and told her that I would call her tomorrow and that I was busy with schoolwork today. Then I texted back Thalia and told her that I got sick and fell asleep without texting her because I had forgotten to. After that, I read over the texts from Dana.

In his first six texts, Dana was apologizing and trying to come up with excuses. Then, by his seventh text, he said, “Fine then! Ignore me now! It’s not my fault you get jealous of my GIRLFRIEND! It’s none of your business what we do anyways!” and then the next two were him apologizing for the last text saying that he didn’t mean to be such a dick and saying that he was sorry. The next text was him apologizing for everything, saying what a jerk he was and talking about how everything was too complicated right now, how he had feelings for me but how he didn’t want to break up with Belle. His last text said, “Goodnight, Lei. I’m sorry for everything that I did today and everything I’ve done since the day we met. I’m also sorry for everything that I will do in the future. I’m sorry. Goodnight..”

I didn’t know how to respond to his texts, nor did I want to. Instead of overanalyzing and overthinking everything, I decided to put my phone back down and to just go back to sleep.

“Wait, you’re sick?” Thalia asked worriedly the next morning once I called her on Skype after talking to Auburn.

“No, I just wasn’t feeling well. I had a really bad headache last night and I just wanted to sleep it off. But, I’m better now though,” I lied to her. I hated lying to my best friend, but I just really didn’t want to have to talk about everything going on with Dana with anybody right now. Hell, I didn’t even want to think about it.

After talking to Thalia for a little over and hour, just catching up on everything, we finally said our goodbyes and I began to finish my homework for all of my classes tomorrow.

“Lani?” Jerr and Adrienne came in the room.

“We brought you back a slice of pizza. You know, in case you were hungry,” Jerr handed me a box.
