Chapter 2: Pink's POV

I walked into the studio, the makeup studio that is.

Lux was balanced on my hip, playing with my hair.

"Mom?" I called. "Where should I put Lux down?"

She came from behind me, balancing two cases of makeup.

"I set up a playpen in the corner, you can set her down there," she replied.

I nodded.

Lux let go of me, content in her playpen.

"The boys are going to be in here any minute. Do you want to work on one?"

I rolled my eyes.

"No."

"Harry or Liam is usually the easiest. I'll take Niall. He's so pale, the lights wash him out."

I nodded.

"K."

I re-braided my hair.

"Pink?" Mom asked.

I turned to her.

"Yea?"

"I really appreciate you helping me, with your dad-"

"It's okay," I said and gave her a hug. "We're alright."

Five boys burst through the doors, loudly laughing.

"Lou!" They all shouted and hugged her.

I stood off to the side, watching.

"How're you boys?" Mom asked while chuckling.

"I actually have a question for you," the blonde boy asked. "Would you dye my hair purple?"

Mom looked at him, humor in her eyes. She put her hand on her chin.

"Pink?"

I looked up.

"Would you dye Niall's hair? You have more experience with dye," Mom explained and I nodded eagerly.

Niall looked wary, but followed me over to the sink.

"What kind of purple?"

"Lilac'll be fine," Niall said. His tongue darted out of his mouth to moisten his lips.

I smiled at him. "Nothing to be afraid of. I'm not gonna mess up. See my hair?" I asked him, grabbing a lock of pink hair in my hand. "I've died this more times than you can imagine."

He finally cracked a smile and relaxed a bit.

"So, where's your next show?" I asked while positioning him with his head over the sink.

"Ah, Bradford, I believe. Zayn's hometown," he replied.

I nodded and wet his hair.

"So, how many times have you actually died your hair?" He looked up at me with his ice blue eyes.

"Well, I had brown hair naturally. Then I dyed it blonde. Then I dip-dyed it. Once that wore off, I dyed my hair back it's normal color and did ombre. Then, about four years ago, I dyed it pink. Now I just dye it different shades of pink. It's kinda my favorite color," I said sheepishly after I finished my rant. "I've dyed my hair about seven times in my lifetime. But, I also dye my friend's and family's hair too." I added.

Niall nodded.

I worked the purple gel into my hands before massaging it through his hair, down to the roots of it.

He moaned. "That feels so good," he said as I worked the dye through his hair.

I giggled. "You're so wierd. I actually never use this type of dye." I said and his eyebrows shot up in alarm.

"I still know how to use it though," I said and his muscles untightened.

I washed my hands. "You're all done."

He reached up to feel his hair.

"Wait!" I yelled and Niall jumped. "You have to leave it in for about an hour and a half," I said.

He thanked me and walked over to join the other boys.

Wow, he isn't as bad as he thought.

He's actually sort of funny.

And sweet.

And maybe even a bit cute.

Nah.
