Theresa Millan

Marathon

[13] I moaned, turning around as I stretched my arms. I frowned, moving my hands around to find the bed next to me empty. Did he really leave when I warned him not to?

I knitted my eyebrows, I should have known. I yanked the sheets away and headed toward the bathroom, slamming the door close. After taking a shower and putting some comfortable clothes on, I headed downstairs.

I walked into the kitchen and greeted Maria, making a plate as I went to sit on the stool to eat my breakfast. "Did you hear?" Maria asked me and I frowned, gulping down the food.

"Hear what?" I asked her confused, "The party for you is tonight." Tonight? I raised my knitted eyebrows and narrowed my eyes confused, Houlton told me about it but he didn't tell me that it was today.

"I don't have anything nice to wear, I need shoes, I need makeup." I ranted getting stressed out just on the thought of meeting the pack like a hobo. "I need to think how I'm going to do my hair, I need to paint my nails." I slapped my forehead with a sigh, running my hand down my curls.

"We have a hair salon here in the pack." Maria smiled at me, "You can see for yourself if you like, I can take you there if you want." Maria proponed and I nodded my head, "Finish eating first, I'll wait for you."

I nodded in acknowledge once again and finished eating my breakfast, "Thank you." I thanked her when she gave me apple juice and I drank it in one gulp, "I'm ready, where I Houlton?"

"Oh, he had to go for something rogue related." Maria told me and I nodded at that, it was something important but still, he could have said something before leaving or let a note for me to know where he was.

I sighed, getting off the stool as Maria put the plate and the glass in the sink, taking her apron off. "Ready?" I asked her as I waited for her to hang the apron. She nodded her head and I followed her out of the kitchen. "Lead the way."

We made our way out of the house and around the pack grounds, she took the time to show me around to. Something Houlton hasn't. "That's the orphan." So that's the orphan, I should come sometime. "This is the hair salon."

We walked inside and Maria greeted a woman who was doing a girl's hair. "Laura, this is Theresa. The Alpha's mate." Laura widened her eyes and stopped with what she was doing.

"Luna." She bowed her head, stepping forward as she shook my hand. "Nice to finally meet you. Want a honor to have you here in my salon. What are you guys doing here?" She asked politely.

"Well, it's the party tonight. I was wondering if you could do my hair, nails and makeup. I don't want to like, overwhelm you." I laughed a little as I smiled, "If you can't it's okay."

"Absolutely, you don't even have to ask. I feel so honored. I feel pretty special, I mean the Alpha's mate just asked me to do her up and I'm nothing but grateful about it." She replied back in the sweetest and politely voice. "But I have like three clients, but then I'm done."
