Shane’s POV-

We got back to the house nearly two hours after leaving. As I held her hand and guided her toward the living-room, she pulled back. I saw a slight worried look on her face as I turned to face her.

“I’m not hiding anymore.” I tell her.

“But…” She started.

“No buts.” I said softly. “I’m done with it. No more games. I don’t care if I have to get a place of my own so you can stay here and we can be together.” I tell her. “I meant what I said in the park. It’s just you and me.” And I kissed her on the cheek sweetly. I pulled her behind me into the living-room and sat down with my parents who turned to us. My father was smiling and nodded at us in acceptance. My mother’s eyes were wide with pride.

“I understand if one of us has to move out.” I tell my father after we explained how us came to be.

“Nonsense. You’re both adults. I suspect you know how to control yourselves.” He eyed me and I felt myself blush and then got a slap on the thigh from none other than Devon. “Your mother and I were talking and we think you should move into the garage apartment. Now that your grandmother’s gone and all, it seems like a waste of space, not to mention a waste of money your mother and I spent to build it; it’s yours if you’d like.” I looked at Devon and laughed.

“Looks like you won’t have far to go when you come and visit.” She tells me. My parents laughed at her statement.

We found ourselves in the den with the printouts from earlier in the day. I sat there, watching Devon sift through the prints. I could tell she was reliving the moment much like I had as I first reviewed them. When she finally finished, she put them down on the coffee table, sat back and let her head fall back on the leather sofa as she fanned her face.

“I’m glad I’m not the only one that felt the heat while looking at them.” I tell her. She shook her head lightly and looked at me. “There’s only one thing left to do. Pick what makes the cut out of all of these.” And I gesture to our stacks.

Devon’s POV-

After a few hours, we had managed to get things narrowed down. Shane had mentioned that he had twelve slots to fill with photos. Beyond this, he wasn’t telling me what else he planned for his project with regards to embellishments, layout, colour or lack thereof. In essence, my duties have now been fulfilled. He took out his pixel ruler and began to doodle on his proofs as I watched him work. The look of concentration was mesmerizing. His black hair fell over his eyes as he was hunched over his work, his pencil eraser, rubbing his bottom lip as he hummed a song I finally figured out belonged to Lifehouse, You and Me. It seemed quite fitting really; me watching him, looking at photos of me.

I felt a kiss on my forehead. Why was I lying down? That’s when I realized that I had laid down to watch Shane and keep him company while he worked. I must have fallen asleep. I decided to keep my eyes closed and feign sleeping. I was curious as to what Shane would do. I felt fingers tenderly trailing the side of my face from my forehead down and around to my lips. I let out a sigh as I exhaled.

“Dev.” I feel the side of his face pressed to mine as he whispers.

“Mmm.” I mumbled sleepily. I chose to nuzzle his cheek. “Shhhhhaaaannne.” I whimpered and I could have sworn his breath caught in his chest. Next thing I feel is his strong arms picking me up bridal style as I let my head lean into his neck. I knew he was bringing me up to my new room. My biggest question was, do I continue this charade or do I magically wake up and ravage him?
