Marty's POV-
I sat in my parents living-room fighting the urge to call her. It had been a day and all I wanted was the feel of her lips on mine again and again. I didn't care that she knew she had also been my first and that my player ways had only begun when I moved as part of this persona I was trying out. It worked, like a charm but I was never happy with who I was. I was happiest being the Marty I am now. Sure, my womanizing ways have their own perks but I wanted to be that same old Marty that hung around with Shane and Sidney. The one that made her blush after our first kiss. A kiss, not to mention, her brother didn't know about. My phone rang.
“Hey man! Where'd the hell d'you go last night?” I hear Shane ask. “I thought you said you'd be right back.”
“Sorry man. Don't know what your sister drank but I brought her home and then felt like heading home.” I told him. He didn't need to know that we had made out, or that we took a walk and then sat on his parents front porch, on the swing talking for hours.
“Fine. How 'bout you pop on over again in a few hours. We're thinking about heading to the pool. I know Mom and Dad would love to see you again.” Shane tells me.
“Sounds good. See you in a few.” I hang up the phone. Well, I guess I get to see Sidney, forget about calling her.
Shane's POV-
Something was bugging me about how Marty disappeared last night and never came back; not to mention, my sister just flaked on us. I couldn't help but shake that something was going on. I knew that there was a bit of friction with the two of them when Marty first showed up because Devon had told me that Sidney had given him a piece of his medicine. I had to laugh at that one because Marty seriously was looking for it. It was great to have him back. I hadn't realized I missed him until he came back and especially last night when we reminisced about the good old days. One of my favourite memories was of how we used to tease Sidney for her childhood crush on him. I always thought that Marty and she would have been good together; that is, until he moved away. I could have sworn he had something for her too but I chucked it to being more of a brotherly kind of feeling toward her. I despised what Tony had done to my sister. I knew that she had bad taste in guys but I honestly thought she had found a gem. Clearly, he had fooled all of us.
An hour later, Devon, Sidney and I were sitting by the pool talking about last night's festivities. The night ended relatively early; by one, everyone had left.
“So, how come you never came back?” I asked my sister. She blushed. “I was told that you couldn't hold your liquor so Marty had to make sure you got to bed safely.”
“I was fine. Heck, I was practically home anyway.” She tells me and gets up to dive into the pool. Devon looked at me and shook her head.
“What?” I say.
“Watch out! Marty coming through!” I hear as Devon and I both turn in time to see Marty pull a canon ball right beside Sidney. I couldn't help but laugh at her face because it looked like she thought he was about to land on her. I looked at Devon and she was laughing quietly.
“What are you laughing at?” I tell her.
“Is he always like this?” She asks me, referring to his kid-like attitude. I nodded.
“For as long as I can remember.” I say. “Now, it's your turn to go in.” I tell her as she starts to try and squirm out of my arms when I grab hold of her. I manage to wrestle her to the edge of the pool before she kissed me hard. And when my grip loosened on her from her mesmerizing kiss, she took that opportunity to weasel herself out of my arms and pushed me in. I couldn't help but laugh at her little victory dance.
