The End Of Times (Destiel AU)

Chapter 3- The Run

The team wake up early, while it is still dark out. The whole mood is troubling. Everyone is silent. Everyone is fearing the worst of outcomes. Most people eat in the dinner hut together, but not even smiles are passed between the group.

Cas woke up in Dean's embrace, which was nice, but he can't help but feel he dreamed something he thought he heard...
'Goodnight Cas. love you.' 

There is no way that was real, his imagination must be playing him. Cas was too busy thinking about what he heard/ dreamed he didn't even realize he has randomly stopped. Not until Gabe tapped his shoulder, making him jump out his day dream and back into reality.

"Cas, you alright bro? or did you and de-"

"I'm fine Gabe," Cas hisses at his little brother, who just smirks. Gabe can clearly see what his brother feels for dean. It's painfully obvious.

"Hey, Cas? Whatever is on your mind, Don't let it affect you out there, I don't want anything to happen to you okay?" Gabe's voice is quiet and serious, and Cas looks to the floor in guilt.

"I promise Gabe," cas whispers, pulling Gabe into a hug, which is sort lived, Because Dean's ' I am in charge so don't piss me off' voice  rings across the area in which all of the camp are standing. They all look up to see dean on the room of his hut.

"You have 10 minutes to get ready, i trust you all have eaten already and if not, you're stupid as hell. Today is going to be tough, but by god do not let your emotions get involved at any points," dean pauses and can't help but look across his friends for Cas. He wishes he didn't have to give this speech, that he didn't have too take his friends, his family, on this run, but he does. 

 " You will get killed if you do. You take all the damn precautions you need out there, and if something feels wrong, don't do it. If it's far too dangerous. Don't do it, You hear me?" Dean shouts, and everyone replies with a simply 'yes'. They get this briefing every time there is a run. 

"Good. Good luck out there," And with that Dean Jumps down and moves quickly to join Cas. 

"Come on, i think i have everything sorted for us already," Dean explains and cas nods. They both make their way into Dean's hut, where dean has carefully laid out everything they will be taking with them on today's run. Cas wonders where dean found the time, But keeps his questions to himself.

"Dean, not to question your's or Charlie's Judgement, but is it really in best interests to be working together?I am just saying, because we are each other's weak points besides our family's. There isn't anything i wouldn't do to keep you alive Dean, and if i had to die trying, you know i would. And we both knows that flows both ways," Cas's voice has a slight shake to it. Dean stops in his tracks, Raw, powerful emotion fills him up. He spins around quickly and corners cas into a table. Cas takes a sharp intake of air, shocked by Dean's sudden actions. They are so close, barely a couple of centimeters between their faces. Cas Can't breath properly.

"Don't. We have to work together, I have to keep you safe cas, I don't trust a damn soul on this camp to do that for me," Dean whispers, his voice is deep, low and husky, making cas shiver. He wonders why dean has suddenly gotten so serious, so emotional. It is not like dean. 

"You know what else cas? You know why? Because i damn l-" Dean's little speech is cut off by Sam entering the room and clearing his voice awkwardly. Dean mentally curses his little brother's bad timing.

"Uh... Everyone is ready already... if you want to.. um.  join us outside.. yeah.." Sam stammers quickly. He could swear down you need a saw to cut through the sexual tension that was in that room.
