Song Of The Chapter: Hero - Enrique Iglesias

I typed a quick reply:
I have things to do. -Kelly.
I guessed that he decided against replying to that.
I took a glance at the date and time on my phone and gasped. It read 22/11/2013. It was my 17th birthday.
Not a call or even a text from them..
My mood directly changed.
I sighed and sat on the couch in my small living room. My house wasn't the biggest, in fact it was considered tiny compared to Mason's. We had three bedrooms, one of them is a guest bedroom, two of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room.
I turned on the TV, and started flipping through the channels. Today was such a boring Sunday.
Grandma walked in holding 2 mugs of coffee. She sat next to me and handed me one of the mugs.
"Thanks" I muttered. She nodded in response.
"Happy birthday dear" She smiled at me. At least someone remembered.
I smiled, a genuine smile, and hugged her. My Grandma was the only person in the world who I could trust. She has something in her eyes that makes me trust her no matter what. And even though we didn't talk much, I loved her to bits.
"I got you something" She grinned excitedly.
"Grandma, you didn't have to" I really didn't like gifts and surprises.
"How can I not get my favorite Grandchild a gift on her 17th birthday?" Her grin got wider, which I didn't think was possible, and her eyes shone ever more.
I smiled and waited for her to get my gift.
"Here you go, happy birthday again dear" She handed me a small red box.
I opened the box and saw a beautiful golden bracelet with a small infinity sign hanging from it. My eyes widened as I looket at Grandma in complete shock. I hugged her again and thanked her.
"Let me help you wear it" I looked at her and panicked.
She wants to help me wear it, what if she sees my scars. I looked at her guiltily, and confusion was written all over her face.
"No no, it's okay I can do it myself" I said, too quickly which made it even more obvious that something was going on. Grandma looked at me, still looking confused, but she nodded and let it go. I was thankful for that.
I wore the beautiful metal and kissed Grandma on the cheek, and excused myself to go to my room.
They still didn't bother to call, so I decided to go for a walk. I got dressed in a pair of ripped black jeans with a red sweatshirt. I let my hair fall loosely on my shoulders and back. I looked at my reflection in my mirror and grimaced. I looked ugly, but I felt like I didn't really care, which was unusual for me.
I told my Grandma that I was going for a walk and bid her goodbye. I left the house and started walking in a random direction. I've lived here for a year and a half, so I didn't think I would get lost easily.
After 3 hours of walking around the town, I spotted a familiar grocery store and decided to buy some things for a movie night or something.
Yeah, something real badass and different to do on my 17th birthday. Note the sarcasm.
I entered the store and started picking some chips, cookies, chocolates, candies, drinks, microwaveable popcorn, and some movies. While choosing which kind of popcorn to buy, I felt someone's gaze on me, but decided to ignore it.
