I dove in after him, heart racing. I was a strong enough swimmer to pull his small body to the surface, but first I needed to find it.

Several small fish circled me. The water was murky. I scanned the surface for any sign of the man. I saw a small hand pierce the surface several yards downstream.

Adrenaline kicked in. Suddenly my legs propelled me forward, as if they were electronic. My arms scooped the water furiously. I was almost to him, my hands reached towards him. I couldn't reach him. My lungs were to focused on saving him to ask for air.

I realized I was to heavy with all my armor on to catch up to the tiny man.

Without hesitation I threw off my helmet, hair falling to my shoulders. I yanked off my chest plate, cloth wrapped around me. I was suddenly fast enough to grasp him.

My fingers wrapped around the collar of his shirt. I pulled him to towards the surface. We both flew out of the water together. I dragged him to shore.

Suddenly my lungs starved for the oxygen they were finally getting. I looked over at Lennon. He wasn't breathing. All relief that I had, flushed away at the thought of him being dead.

I threw myself over him, pressing my palms against his chest. Pressing my lips against his and breathing oxygen into his lungs.

Several soldiers ran up to us, we had floated downstream. I continued CPR. Hoping each breath I pushed into his body would resuscitate him.

As I began losing hope of the soldier's survival, his bright blue eyes opened. He coughed up some water and breathed in the oxygen he lacked.

The man looked over at me and gasped. "Mystic, your hair!" He stared at the wrap around my chest and the dark hair that hit my shoulders.

The soldiers who came to see what was happening looked flabbergasted. They knew I was a girl. No more hiding.

"I know" I looked up at the men who were stood speechless. "Yes, I'm a girl, and no that doesn't mean training is over."

"I'm sorry miss, but women aren't aloud in the army" one of the men stepped forward.

"And why is that? I could beat all of you in battle, I can shoot a bow better than all of you, I can swim faster than each of you too, so why not?" The fact that women weren't aloud in the army bugged me so much and I was determined to change that.
